abenjami
He proceeds to earn a starting spot less than half way into the year(less than a year from a serious knee injury), in all likelihood the coach wanted him in there sooner. The kid has serious game. He's going to be a quality NFL starter, be it in Tennessee or elsewhere. If Ryan Leaf was our #3 QB last year he would have been starting the same time Mett did. Mett didn't earn or play his way into being the starter last season. He was in the right place at the right time with two absolute pieces of shit in front of him on the depth chart. abenjami
I like BA's spreadsheet. I think it's funny how people who like Winston say he has a strong arm and those who don't like Mariota question his arm strength. Then you look at their velocity numbers and Mariota actually throws it with more velocity than Winston.
Mythos27
If Ryan Leaf was our #3 QB last year he would have been starting the same time Mett did. Mett didn't earn or play his way into being the starter last season. He was in the right place at the right time with two absolute pieces of shit in front of him on the depth chart. If he didn't earn anything Charlie would have been the starter for the rest of the season. Charlie isn't a starter but he was playing much better than Jake and about as well as you would expect a back up to play. Given that his play was adequate for his position (back up) there is no way he would have been sat down while healthy for a 6th round rookie who had shown absolutely nothing. Whether you want to admit it or not, the team saw something in Zach that made them want to see more. Did our QB situation at the time help him become the starter? You bet. But aside from Carr, no rookie last season was named the starter in the preseason. They all ended up taking over because the guy in front of them was either ineffective or got injured. That's how you usually get your shot in the NFL. So if Mett didn't "earn" his spot then nobody not named Carr did either last year.

OILERMAN
Good to know folks are looking forward to being insufferable! When I started a thread questioning whether the Titans had real interest in MM I was lambasted
OILERMAN
as will you and I my friend, lol. You've been predicting MM, although unhappy about it
TF_Titan
I've never thought they were really interested in Mariota...even less so now. That doesn't mean the won't take him, but common sense and history tells me that Whisenhunt doesn't want anything to do with a spread QB and isn't about to change his offense to suit one. Mythos27
When I started a thread questioning whether the Titans had real interest in MM I was lambasted That doesn't count though. For some reason.
Legaltitan
What doesn't count? I just find it odd people are waiting with baited breath for the chance to be insufferable. Man, not everything has to be read through the lens of "sides."
Legaltitan
And Oman acting miffed is a bit rich coming from someone who wakes up every morning thinking of a new way to be insufferable on the board for that day. We love ya big fella, but you know it's true.
