This is basically what the guy said on D.C. radio yesterday when discussing the Titans and Skins trading down. He stated teams actually set their draft boards months in advance despite what the media says. He said all the back and forth on twitter is simply for ratings.

Alright, lemmie get this straight.

Winston is going to the Bucs. It's been reported for weeks if not months and really a no brainer at this point and time.

With Williams, Wyatt has already reported that while he is a great player he doesn't see the Titans picking him up.

Which leaves me to believe the Titans could draft White(my pick) barring trade backs.

 

If they want to take White, then I'd have to believe they'd be okay with Cooper if that's the way it worked out, they'd need to make an awesome trade deal to the Jets for their 1st and 2nd this year.  Pretty good odds they'll get Cooper or White at 6 and pick up a 2nd.

I heard on NFLN this morning that the Titans don't think Williams would make a big enough impact in their D because of the 3-4 & it's not the 1st time I've heard it.  This makes absolutely zero sense to me.

And Allbright admitted it's not Williams' best use.

I think the Titans themselves have said their board isn't set until the few weeks before the draft. Anyone else/remember this?

That's great and all, but what if no one wants to trade up? Cooper is great too.

If we were to assume they can't get a decent trade offer and Williams is their top player, I think you just draft him. Yes, maybe him being a 3-4 DE devalues him to some extent, but having another Richard Seymour would still be a huge benefit to the D. And half of his snaps would still be at DT in the nickle.

With LeBeau running the D it makes sense. It just pisses me off they would forego an elite prospect based on the ancient 3-4 LeBeau runs. Horton's d calls for more flexibility at the DE position.

Except for the fact LeBeau stays in his base D more than anyone else. When they go to their Nickel package they swap out an ILB.

That's great and all, but what if no one wants to trade up? Cooper is great too.

 

Not no one, but the Jets.  That's the only way they could still walk away with one of the two WRs (well, Washington but that doesn't seem realistic).  And there's no guarantee there either, but it's really good odds they could pick up one of the two.  If "talk" is right, it'll most likely to White and I'm totally happy with that.  I prefer White over Cooper, but I'd be good with either.  

 

If they don't bite, and they really want White at 2,  they take him.  It might be the most fun pick on the forum too.
