You can put Jake against the second string defense and hes still going to stare down WRs and not step into the pocket, where as Zach anticipates throws, is accurate and actually steps into the pocket. Defenses are vanilla in preseason but Zach shows talent and some progession in areas that exceeds Locker already, its something to get excited. But lets put it a different way: comparing the rookie QBs' performances over 3 games, in which no rookie has taken consistent snaps with the 1s, would you disagree that Mett has been in the upper tier thus far? Don't say it doesn't matter. You've already established that. I haven't seen them all play so I can't say how he stacks up vs other rookies. Mett and Bortles look a lot better than the rest. The kid is averaging 13 yards an attempt. He's played extremely well over 5-6 quarters, some of that against 1s. These guys were studied ad nauseum pre-draft and despite a couple unique exceptions no coach/FO would (at least admit to) change their mind about a player after 3 preseason games. As soon as MN took teddy I started looking around the league for possible good fits for ZM, and I identified the titans as my favorite spot for him to end up. I was shocked it took until round 6, I could've understood 4 or even 5 but round six? The talent alone puts him in rounds 2-3 even with any off field issues I thought. But I was excited to see him with the titans. Switching my allegiance to the Titans and away from the Vikings may in some folks minds seem a bit extreme, but I've now followed ZM going on 3 years. I only needed to see him play that 2012 slugfest against bama to know he was special. I'm not even an SEC fan, as I live in MN. I just haven't been that impressed with a college QB since Brady at Michigan. Mett jumped off the screen at me, beating man, zone, man-zone combos, blitzes and keeping drives alive against a crazy good bama defense. Being a Titans fan is a rough life sometimes. ANd @Jonboy if you read this then you'll probably agree that it's been worse being a Vikings fan. As tough as it's been over the years with the Titans, I think being a Vikings fan has been worse. Let's look at some of the things that have happened since 1998: 1. Best record in football in 1998, host championship game, have a kicker that hasn't missed a kick all year miss his first kick with a 7 point lead and a chance to completely ice the game late in the 4th quarter. End up losing in OT 2. Begin 2003 season 6-0, lose games at 4-12 Oakland and San Diego as well as versus the 4-12 NY Giants during the season, but need to only win one game to win the NFC North versus the at the time 3-12 Cardinals. Have a two score lead late in the 4th, Arizona scores, recovers onsides kick and Josh McCown throws a miracle TD from like 45 yards out I believe on 4th down to beat the Vikings. The Vikings become the first 6-0 team to miss the playoffs and also lose to the 4 teams that went 4-12 and picked in the top 4 in the 2004 draft. In that Arizona loss the VIkings had a 17-6 lead with under two minutes to go! And in looking at the stats Arizona fumbled five times. And the VIkings recovered none of those fumbles! 3. Tied late in the 2009 NFC Championship game at New Orleans with the ball and under 2 minutes remaining needing only a FG to win and on the cusp of FG range already. The ONLY thing that can happen to ruin a chance at a game-winning FG is a turnover. And what happens? Their NFL legend QB does just that, throwing across his body, something a rookie isn't even supposed to do and they lose in OT. The Baltimore losses were tough, but since becoming the Titans they have not had a regular season choke equivalent to Minnesota in 2003 or playoff chokes equivalent to what Minnesota through. Other QBs aren't throwing for 550 yards in 6 quarters of play at 13 yards an attempt. The rookie QBs are not, from what I've seen, throwing with such anticipation. I can't help it, I'm excited by the fact that all 3 of our QBs look good and Mett looks like a stud. And this is the guy who is now telling us how great Tannehill is?????
