Re-Draft today. Where does Mettenberger go?

Not true Prag. if the Titans take a 2nd round QB next year you better believe he's the QBOF. I think Mettenberger has done enough to be in the conversation but he's got this year to show he's worthy of competing for the spot next year. if the Titans don't draft a QB next yearn then it will speak volumes to what the team thinks of Mettenberger. Needless to say this scenario only applies if Locker is gone which I fully expect will be the case.

No you can't afford to invest a one if you think you have the guy on your roster.

You only take a QB at #1 if you don't think you have your franchise QB on the roster.

If they take a 1 next year it'll mean that they have no future plans with Mettenberger. Which would floor me.

Maybe - 1 vs 2 vs 3 depends a lot on who is there. 1 would likely mean bad things for met.

2 or 3 - *shrugs*. It gets murkier.

The point is I don't expect any FO to know they have a franchise qb until they see them adapt to the reality and struggled of live bullets. Unless locker goes down early - I doubt Mett gets that.

Which means qb becomes a question mark and need going into 2015 season

How do you know that Whisenhunt hasn't made up his mind already on Mettenberger just from what he's seen in practice and his preseason games?

Yeah - when we start to get into whether a 1 or 2 or 3 equates doom for Mett then er are getting into nuance that is probably too situation specific to talk generalities.

Think we are on the same page except for Lockers chances - which is cool.

Not if they believe that Mettenberger can be the guy and they decide to give him 2015 to prove it.

You never know until you give the guy a chance. You don't think that Mettenberger has shown that he's worth a look?

Why would you waste a draft pick on a position that requires one player when you have a guy on your roster that you feel can handle the job and you have so many holes on defense?

I don't know anything regarding what Whiz is thinking obviously. But I highly doubt it for reasons already stated above.

I've already answered this and we've already started the merry go round -

Yes but the difference is when you just invested a 1 you cannot then invest another 1 the following year.

When you've invested a 6th then you can afford to invest a one or two the following year. None of that has changed with three preseason games.

The only difference is that we could now reasonably expect Mett to win that battle if it's only a 2 or 3.

It's a great position for the Titans, still an up hill battle for Mett but he's made the best of every opportunity and has dramatically increased his chances of success.

He just still has a long way to go

lol not this drudgery again. Mett has outplayed every, let me repeat, every rookie QB. Bortles is the only rookie in the conversation. I don't care if he takes another snap this year, we are not drafting a QB high next year.

Again- it's never been a question about talent- and around the wheel we go!
