I mainly agree, though I think by next season Helm can bulk up a bit and play more in-line but that's a projection. If you aren't going to extend him then trade him. Same with any other expiring contract.

The thing is we will have more money than players in FA, so I think it does change the calculus a bit. Plus the roster is devoid of talent. I can see justifications either way, but my first instinct is you trade the expiring contract.

Helm is blocking fine. I'm sure he will add mass

Why is everyone in on Saleh today?  What article came out or whatever?  His Jets teams were atrocious. The only thing that matters is Cams development and he has never shown he could do that.

Brinker already stated that they think their process and what they wanted in a coach was correct last time. To me, that indicates an Offensive minded HC to have continuity in a system. Someone that believes in modern metrics and keeps up with working trends. Someone that has been a HC before and knows what it takes. Also, someone that has shown development of a QB before. I don't think they HAVE to call plays but if they do, they have to have shown success there before.

None of that lines up with Saleh.

Agreed but the alternative might be Nagy...which is a multitude worse

So you think it's on purpose?

To seriously answer your question: yes. Of course he's not injured on purpose, but he plays recklessly with an insane motor, often to his detriment (penalties/injuries). Until this year, I haven't really noticed an intelligent rush plan (on majority of snaps). It's just as fast and violent brute force rush, and if it randomly works...so be it.

I do love all this about him, but when he gets hurt, he plays hurt. And then he's ineffective because he can't do the above (which makes him great). His numbers suffer and he takes up a roster spot at less than average production - and perhaps he prolongs recovery.

No, I think the board members are born this way. They're special. But it doesn't mean they can't take reasonable steps toward accommodation. I envision a world of retards that can co-exist with smarter, less needful folks like me. In order for that to happen though, they need to get past denial and embrace acceptance.

You're right but the only person's opinion of his legacy that matters to me is mine and I did have to watch him play like that. Not fun.

Why is taking a contract in Nashville a death sentence for WR? It seems like only receivers looking for a check that get no other offers end up here. The list is mind boggling.

Someone talk me into having hope for this team.

    Doesn't exist man.

    1. They've spent so much equity in draft and FA and trade capital on OL and still don't have a good OL.

    2. Maybe the worst secondary in the league. (And blew trade capital and $)

    3. Pass rush is impotent

    4. No stars on offense

*The best players are: a DT who doesn't play all season and costs a fortune, MLB who can't cover, and a WR who plays ST mostly. Ironically, the rookie ST has had the most impact on the games thus far.

There are simply too many holes. We are on the 3rd GM trying to fix the OL in 4 years. You can't fill all these other holes if premium draft and FA capital gotta go to OL, and to some extent recently QB. Add a coaching carousel to the equation, and it's a disaster. Pat Mahomes couldn't survive this.
