IrishTitansFan
As regards to Pollard, any guy who plays most of the season with 6 broken ribs is a guy i want on my defense.. he also re-broke them 6 ribs on the first play of the SB and played the full game. Tough.
Cyrus
It's not about scheme though. Gray already shared Williams playbook. It's all about playcalling and right now Gray is still the playcaller. It's very possible we see a more aggressive defense, but at this point we have no idea how aggressive the Titans will be defensively until they get on the field. cenj, JLocker10, and IrishTitansFan
cenj
Sounds like wishful thinking Not quite the right term there, it's not like I'm hoping Gray is still the DC and that GW isn't. I'm just honsetly not sure right now what the power structure is.
cenj
BTW, what's the over/under on which week Pollard will finally snap at how soft Griffin is and publicly belittle him? jreynolds
dannynj
BTW, what's the over/under on which week Pollard will finally snap at how soft Griffin is and publicly belittle him? May not happen publicly but if Griffin screws up know that Pollard will tell him all about it
Tim
Great signing. Anyone who has watched our defense the last four years knows we have had the biggest bunch of pussies in the league. Thankfully that has been addressed this off season. jreynolds, and SuperFreak90

oldschool
BTW, what's the over/under on which week Pollard will finally snap at how soft Griffin is and publicly belittle him? Good point. If that happens it may be worth taking on Pollard's weaknesses.
ctm
Until I see Pollard's signing bonus and how the draft goes, I'm not positive he makes the final roster cut. He's too much like Wilson.

Oiler FANatic
Griffin has a longer contract and doesn't seem to be going anywhere though. It's Wilson (age) and Pollard (1 yr deal) that are likely to be gone sooner rather than later. Wilson could have a better chance of being with the team in 2014 than Griffin, same with Pollard if he plays well and the team decides to re-sign him after the season. Griffin is due to make $6.2M next year, so unless he has another season like he did in 2008 he'll be gone. Releasing him in 2014 would free up $2.6M in cap space. If the Titans draft Barkevious Mingo in the first round and someone like Johnthan Banks in the second round then it would greatly complement what they've done so far. I think they would take Werner ahead of an undersized guy like Mingo. Banks would definitely allow them to blitz more if they use some 46-defense with Williams around. cenj
Despite what the fans think, the FO feels confident that Griffin is a much better player than his numbers suggest, and that he is worth paying. I want to believe they're right, but then I think about Amano's contract....
CMJ
Griffin is garbage and I have no idea why that fucker is untouchable.

I said back when he signed the deal last year that he would probably only play for two more years as a Titan. They could easily be looking to replace him this time next year, if they haven't already. jreynolds
Tim
You still have to stop the run to have a legitimately good pass defense.
