JLocker10
You are missing my point. I'm not advocating they blow stupid money in FA. Don't sell me on the plan to address a terrible pass rush is for them to hope a difference maker at DE is there in the first. They are a building a team around a power rush offense that lacks deep threats. That is being paired with a blitzing defense that lacks a pass rush and is weak in coverage. The two systems do not match and reinforces the idea this team is run by idiots. so in other words, you have no idea nice job LEWISHADTHEWEED

cenj
I don't believe I've made the point that this team is going to be outstanding on defense. I'm confused as to why I'm being corralled into that view. However, the Titans can address those positions/roles in the draft. We'll see how well it turns out, but there's only so much this team can do in one offseason. Also keep in mind that last offseason, the Titans were willing to chase the top FA in Mario Williams, a DE that would have cost us an insane amount of money. We then went for Wimbley once the Manning-fever passed. This season, the Titans have been more active in FA than I can ever remember. If the FO really thought that a pass rusher and a CB were the secret to making the team more competitive in 2013, there's no question they would have spent the money at those positions instead of LG, S, etc. The team not chasing those guys means they are: 1) Happy with the current starters, 2) Plan to address it in the draft, 3) Aren't done in FA and are looking for role-players instead of big name guys I've said it before, but I think Morgan is a key guy. Wimbley is a pass rush DE who we just paid and Ayers can add pressure on 3rd downs also. If the coaches want more dynamic pass rushers, they have a slew to choose from this draft. I'm coming around to the idea of Mingo (if he's there when we pick). Edited March 21, 2013 by cenj JLocker10
IrishTitansFan
This looks like a Gregg Williams defense to me.. If i remember correctly his Saints defense used to give up yards but got a heck of alot of turnovers. Oiler FANatic
JLocker10
oldschool- so you don't want to them blow big money on a FA to help the pass rush, but you don't want them to sell you on a high draft pick helping the pass rush you were against avril and kruger, generally considered the top 2 pass rushers in FA you're upset because they don't have deep threats. yet when there was talk about mike wallace ,you said he was overrated what the fuck do you want then all you do is complain like a baby who wants a bottle Edited March 21, 2013 by JLocker10 Eighteen

We've got a power running game, Wright and Brittle. cenj
Omar
I look for a much improved pass rush from Wimbley in his second season as a DE, and if they don't keep him on the field for a ridiculous amount of plays every game.
JLocker10
JLocker10 makes a good point... it's one of my major pet peeves it's alright to be upset, i'm certainly not 100% happy with everything but i get irritated when certain people always complain, yet when you ask them what they want to do, they have no solution lol other than a probable misdirection or insult Edited March 21, 2013 by JLocker10

I'm not sure GW will do the exact same thing here -- we're still built differently and our offense is totally going in the opposite direction of NOLA. I'm not even sure how much power GW has at this point, Gray is still the DC and the details on the hire is still confusing.

Sounds like wishful thinking We have G Williams Gray is a Williams disciple Webster talks about not prioritizing pass rushers We drafted fast, blitzing lb Webster praised their ability to get pressure through scheme changes Sounds to me like G Williams defense w/ a power running offense My only hope is that Loggains is a true dinger disciple and wants to use a slot wr to stretch defenses (explains our interest) And they draft a speedy guy at 10 Otherwise I don't see this offense and defense meshing at all
