Rich Eisen did not run a 4.9.    I don’t think people realize how fast that is.

Eisen ran in the 6's his first time. After a quick google the fastest he has ever run is a 5.9

The average adult is shockingly slower than they realize. And most would immediately pull a muscle or do significant damage to their body if they actually went 100% for 40 yards. Bodies that don't tra

Lets you know just how fast guys like Pac and Vick were in their prime. You can run 4.4-.4.5 in your 40's if you were running 4.2 in your 20's as long as you stay in shape. You don't train for that kind of speed; you wake up with it in the morning.

I saw someone talking about this and if you stay in shape and workout you don't get a huge drop off until close to 70! I mean off the cliff drop

Sounds about right. There are guys competing in master's track and field every day. The only thing is you kind of had to be fast to begin with because you're really just slowing the decline of what you already had. I'm under no illusions that I could break 5 right now, but I could certainly smoke some of these kids that are slow af. Men tend to overestimate everything about themselves including their speed. That's why I love the first day of track so much. All the kids that spent the fall bragging about how fast they are get to see what real speed looks like for the first time.
