Personally, I wouldn’t touch Tyson with a ten foot pole.

I wouldn't touch your 10 foot pole with another ten footpole if it was near someone who had mentioned drafting tyson at any point.

Yeah I think this was a huge part of it. If Dennard Wilson was still our DC he’s probably our pick. He just fits much better in a hybrid 3-4 where he can be a blitzing off ball LBer & maybe move outside in a year or two. Here he’d have to be a pure 4-3 edge which is a total projection. And he’s not the best fit as an off ball LBer in our scheme. The MLB has to carry the slot or TE on seam routes & do some other things in coverage which isn’t really Reese’s game.

It's possible the Giants took an off the ball LB not as good as Styles and even Hill.

 

Reese better make a real impact rushing the passer and that's in doubt with him being slotted as an ILB

I don’t know about you but I think we would’ve picked Styles over Reese if we went defense. He just fits the scheme much more, was a better off ball LBer, and even more freakish of an athlete. He could’ve been another Bulluck here. Reese would’ve been strictly an edge here & that’s just too much projection for a top 5 pick. I think things worked out great for us.

The only way I consider Reese is if I believe he can play on the LOS and rush from the wide 9 as his full time position. 

 

Bailey appears to be the only top prospect who could. 

 

As the Giants appear to be using Reese I take Styles every day over Reese

I don't think you could be mad if they ended up with Styles or Reese. Outstanding players in college who absolutely have a great chance to make a big impact for their new teams.

 

Having said that, I'm glad they decided to go WR and help out Cam. To me, there is no higher priority than developing the young QB and building around him. Even if it costs you some overall talent on the team, I don't care, you have to give him every chance.

Drafting Reese or Styles wouldn't have moved the needle at all in our overall improvement.

This reporting from Jeremy Fowler lines up with what Albert Breer reported a couple of days ago it was Tate>Reese>Styles for the Titans.

 

Also Fowler is reporting the Titans never received any trade offer once they were on the clock at pick #4.

 

Tennessee Titans

The way the Tennessee Titans stacked their options at No. 4 was a compelling storyline leading up to Thursday. My read on it: Texas Tech edge David Bailey would've been a consideration had he fallen to them, either as an outright selection or a trade-back catalyst. The Titans had finalized their draft board more than a week before, and Ohio State receiver Carnell Tate was ahead of Buckeyes teammates Arvell Reese and Sonny Styles. One source believes Reese's positional uncertainty (off-ball backer vs. edge) was a factor for Tennessee. Another countered that the Titans simply rated Tate higher and figured he wasn't getting past No. 7. Tennessee felt good about getting defensive help later. Plus, the top-end receiver pool was stronger than some of the other positions it might have prioritized. The Titans never got any trade offers while on the clock, so moving back wasn't really an option.

 

The Titans believe they can get more pass-rush juice out of Auburn edge Keldric Faulk, their 31st pick who had two sacks last year. Faulk was in a two-gap scheme in Auburn, which limited his pass-rush opportunities. Tennessee believes he has the length and speed to do more as a pass rusher.

Hill is much better value than Reese or Styles even with giving up a day 3 pick to trade up.
