NES has only about 4 to 500 linemen while other regions are deploying thousands or tens of thousands for similar outages. The ratio is terrible. Now there are reasons to explain this off, but the bottom line is NES doesn't want to pay union fees for emergency services and that's fucked. It's colder than a well digger's asshole out there. Basically, anyone local is heading into the worst of the north for the pay OR going south to take care of rich communities for a free vacation somewhere warmer. Speaking generally of course.
