TR Conservatives: Let's talk about the right wing civil war and Nick Fuentes

As someone on the left that really dislikes his party, I am sympathetic to the desire to ignite a civil war from within. That said, I think Fuentes, while talented, is complete poison to the brand of the right. At the same time, I'm curious how people who are actually on the right view the developing schism between the MAGA and "America First" factions. Here are some things I'm curious to hear about from y'all:

Do you feel the coup will work?

Are you worried about the division or potential fall-out depending on which side wins out?

Given that support for Israel seems to be the wedge issue, do you think it's worth the headache?

Is the civil war not really a thing and being blown out of proportion?

@Mercalius I remember you saying once that you were keeping tabs on Fuentes because you saw the threat he posed, would you say what you thought is coming to fruition? What can we expect to see next from the groypers and groyper-adjacent people?

I already know the left's answers to all of these questions so while anyone is welcome to discuss these things, I'm more interested in hearing how right wing people are thinking about these issues.

6 feet under ground...

Let me tell you guys about rural conservatives for a moment. Today I worked with a guy at the head of a major business council in Wyoming at the cross section between EDC's, Chamber, and the governmen

Yeah, me being pearly white and living where I do in western middle TN, I could, if I wished, get daily reminders of the racism of conservatives.  And this isn't me being selective, this is just the t

Don't even know what he's about. He was on Timcast with Kanye once before Kanye did Kanye things and stormed off lol.

Don't understand the anti Israel thing with Tucker, Candace, and Fuentes but just because one is anti-Israel doesn't necessarily make them antisemitic just the way I can be pro America and hate the corruption of our government.

The schism happening within the conservative movement is probably healthy for the party in the long term. But gotta find a healthier way to debate than middle aged soap opera stupidity.

The good thing is that Nick is being interviewed by bigger platforms and people will either see his racism front and center. Reasonable people will either tune him off or he will gain traction within a faction of MAGA and form another party (good for dems).

Maybe he can join forces with the Free Palestine crowd based on just that one issue. Who knows? To me, he's irrelevant.  Either way, when the dust has settled, hopefully the best ideas win out and America survives to see another 250 years.

I think it's an interesting test of the right. You might disagree with what I'm about to say but this is a common opinion on the left. For a long time, the republican party has been courting far right, white nationalists and white supremacists as a voting block. They keep the Fuentes types at an arm's length in public while patting them on the head in private as their attack dogs. The far right doesn't like or trust the Republican party but they accepted their role as a foot in the door of mainstream politics.

The far right seems to have outgrown the corner that the establishment put them in and seems poised to launch a tea party like takeover. I don't doubt that they have the energy to kick off a coup but I don't know if they have the financial backing. The tea party did have organic grassroots energy but they also had a shit load of money behind them. IDK how big business feels about groyper rhetoric.

I doubt the RNC is courting the far right as they are a permanent shit stain on the party.  The Dems spend a lot of time building that narrative that the RNC as a whole are racist far right extremists that have shifted the Overton Window further right.  In no reasonable metric is our politics or culture more conservative than it was 20-30 years ago.

The good thing about Conservatives is that most of us aren't afraid to call each other out and sometimes too explicitly.  Shapiro vs. Candace/Tucker is one example.  Fuentes vs almost everybody.  Dave Smith(libertarian) vs traditional conservatives/pro Israel crowd.  MTG seems to have permanently burned her bridge and might soon become one of the left's darlings.  What's interesting is that some conservative influencers are now using Charlie Kirk's death to promote certain ideas based on what he would have thought if he were alive today.  Far right doesn't mean anything to me because I feel like I'm more conservative than them in some ways and their ideas don't resonate with vast vast majority of conservatives, let alone Americans.

I don't know what Groypers are but if their ideology is anything like Nick Fuentes' beliefs, I probably don't have much in common with them either.  I, for one, believe it's a good thing when racists expose themselves for all to see.  And whether I like them or not, I believe they have a right to exist.

I do think, however, that the DNC sponsors would do well to strategically and secretly grow the strength and influence of the far right (groypers type) to create a division within the RNC.

Of course our politics aren't more conservative except the umm removal of Roe V Wade...guess that doesn't count? MAGA aren't traditional conservatives though. They're Christian nationalists, and yes they very obviously court the white nationalists. They literally just platformed Fuentes on Tucker Carlson to the tune of four million listens in a couple days. Fuck out here dum dum.

Informal Trump adviser Laura Loomer warned on Tuesday that the Republican Party was experiencing a growing “Nazi problem.”

“I’m going to say it. The GOP has a Nazi problem,” wrote Loomer on social media. “And the more we pretend like we don’t, the worse it’s going to get. We do. Don’t tell me we don’t.”

She continued:

People can get mad at me for saying this, but it’s true.

I have no problem with people criticizing Israel. I even said end aid to Israel.

But let’s admit this isn’t about Israel.

When you have top podcasters saying Jewish Americans are disloyal, saying Trump is controlled by Jews, saying Jews need to self deport to Israel, Gen Z glorifying Hitler and doing Seig Hiels all over Tik Tok, @TuckerCarlson infiltrating movements to say the people who killed Jesus killed Charlie Kirk at Charlie’s memorial, and acceptance of videos portraying Jews as cockroaches, and glorification of people who go around saying the N world and calling Jews k*kes and saying Hitler is cool and we should have let him win WW2….

That is a Nazi problem.

Fuentes is a piece of shit. He’s no better than Hasan Piker. Those two twats should have gotten whacked long before Kirk, who was very much a moderate compared to either. That statement will trigger many on here, but it’s true. To answer your question though, Fuentes and Candace can’t fuck off fast enough. I don’t keep up with them, though, so I’m honestly not up to date on any impending party drama or civil wars.

Thank you. I only really ask because at least from the outside the Candaces and Fuentes of the world are looking like a real threat to and from the right. The current sentiment in general seems to be that as Trump enters lame-duck status and loses power/influence these guys will step into more prominent, influential roles on the right. As someone on the left, this all rings true to me but I wanted to see how people who  regularly interact in right wing spaces were reading the situation.

Obviously this little shithead must be resonating with somebody, but in my personal circles I’ve never heard his name mentioned, to be honest. I am in my late 30s though so I might not be his demographic.  Left or right, the kids are not alright.

It's coming from people on the left so you'll likely take this with a grain of salt but the current theory of the case is that the Trump administration has gone from being viewed as an exciting, insurgent faction to essentially the "establishment". The "America first" faction has essentially branded the establishment as traitors to their own cause citing issues like support for Israel and reluctance on the Epstein files as evidence. They are also thriving in part because segments of the right resent the fact that they can't disagree with the Trump coalition without effectively being excommunicated by their own "side". Since Fuentes, Candace, and the other more fringe elements have been loudly criticizing the Trump admin for some time legitimately disgruntled MAGA folks, really young people, genuine anti-semites, and everyone in between is flocking to the far right. I guess what I really question is whether MAGA folks see this as a phase or a legitimate coup akin to the tea party movement.
