fuck no. I've never been a McCarthy fan

Alright. Someone was saying last year the viking should keep Darnold and they thought that would open up a chance for us to trade for jj. Thought it was you.

How stupid is Jerry Jones? He traded away the player who would have made them a SB contender. The opposite of Jimmy trading for Charles Haley in the 90s

The Raiders aren't giving up one of the premier pass rushers in the league. No one is that stupid

Byard is simply another example of a good, core player who started aging and wasn't as good but got replaced with nothing (all the trade pieces are gone). We did that with a ton of players, either by

@OILERMAN wasn't this you?

No I never said they should trade for McCarthy

I said the Vikes couldn't let Darnold go and I said the Titans should consider signing Darnold if he did hit free agency and trade the#1 pick and take Carter.

As the process got closer I was totally on board with drafting Ward

The guy I was 100% wrong about and shocked about is Daniel Jones.

He's completing 70% of his passes, 8.4 yards per pass and has a 106 passer rating. I was laughing at the Colts for signing him.

The Colts average 33 points per game and convert 46% of their 3rd downs.

Just another example of how important it is to put your QB in a pressure free situation. Before you even begin to evaluate these young QBs you have to have them in a pressure free environment

yeah but if we had signed darnold no one would have ever known the vikes fucked up

I actually agree with this

Just like Ward looks like a bust right now. I'm not saying he is

Minnesota scored 9 points in each of their final two games with Darnold, in which he had a QBR of 14 and 12.    They were definitely leaning towards resigning him prior to that.  But he was so bad in the biggest moment of the season that they saw a limited ceiling with him.  I think we'll need to see how he does in the postseason before concluding that it was a huge mistake.

Lol. No they weren't. It was reported early on last year they were letting him walk because of investment in McCarthy. The final two games where he was under constant pressure didnt tip shit. Just another case of you using stats to fit a narrative.

"Early on" as in when?  A few games after they spent a 1st round pick on a QB, or when they were 14-2?  It was clearly their plan to move on to McCarthy.  Darnold had to be elite to make them even think of doing otherwise, which he was.  And fair or not, the bar was still high during those last two games and he just didn't even come close.   You're an idiot if you think there was no scenario in which they extended Darnold.

look it up dumbass. It was reported months before the end of the season the Vikings would not resign or tag Darnold no matter how good of a season he had. If you think the final two games had anything to do with the decision, you are the idiot.

Lol what? If Darnold doesn't shit the bed and they advance further into the playoffs then it changes the entire scenario.

Not unless they won the whole thing. The decision had already been made. The reporting couldn't be more clear. Unlike stupid ass fans, teams dont make long term decisions based on 1 or 2 games.

^^^I’m told that representatives for Texas coach Steve Sarkisian have let NFL decision-makers know that he would be interested in potential head-coaching openings, including the Titans’.

Based on a whole year. Acting as if the playoff game meant nothing is legitimately a retarded take.
