Cuck Corner

Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns and Joe Flacco

The Bengals and Browns found themselves in an unexpected situation earlier this month, the kind where adults participate in things they hadn’t imagined they would enjoy. Both teams were desperate. The Bengals needed something, anything, after Joe Burrow went down with an injury and Jake Browning simply couldn’t score enough. The Browns, who are somehow paying eight quarterbacks on their cap this year, had benched Joe Flacco for rookie Dillon Gabriel. And so the two teams did the unthinkable: They made the first trade between the franchises this century, breaking the forbidden incestuous seal of an intra-division deal.

Not only did these teams do this, but they did it for a quarterback. The Browns swapped Flacco to the Bengals and pulled up a chair in the corner for Thursday Night Football as Flacco scored for the team over and over and over again, winning 33-31. It’s hard to imagine how the Browns could derive pleasure from watching that. We aren’t here to judge, but Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin did not hide his horror that the Browns had allowed Flacco to join the Bengals.

“To be honest, it was shocking to me,” Tomlin said last week. ”[Browns GM] Andrew Berry must be a lot smarter than me, or us, because it doesn’t make sense to me to trade a quarterback that you think enough of to make your opening-day starter to a division opponent that’s hurting in that area. But that’s just my personal feeling.”

You can hear it in Tomlin’s voice. He thinks that Berry is sick. Meanwhile, Flacco and the Bengals probably enjoyed it even more knowing that the Browns were watching.

How stupid is Jerry Jones? He traded away the player who would have made them a SB contender. The opposite of Jimmy trading for Charles Haley in the 90s

The Raiders aren't giving up one of the premier pass rushers in the league. No one is that stupid

Unless McCarthy comes back looking a lot better than he did prior to getting injured the Vikings are staring down a lost season and an offseason wondering whether they made a colossal mistake letting

I guess we can put to rest the Jake Browning as our backup . I suppose Brandon Allen is on borrowed time too

Hilarious that Callahan largely got the job because Browning performed well in that Offense against bad teams.  And now that they've exclusively played good teams, both he and the offense looked like the Titans.

Buck continuing to pour salt in the wound.  Like Henry, it seemed like it was time to move on from Byard.  But damn..... this makes it look way worse.  Especially when you consider they may have used the CB from Baltimore as justification for trading brownlee....

Right. Byard is so good... the eagles couldn't move on quick enough. Do their coaches and GM suck too? or is the more likely scenario Byard is still old but getting some Ints this season?

The eagles' DC was demoted from play calling during the regular season and then fired afterwards.  He was the Brian Callahan of DCs.  So yes, he absolutely sucked.  They improved from 30th in points allowed to 1st the year following his firing.

Yeah, I’m not advocating for Byard.  Moreso just pointing out the fact that we replaced him with nothing.

Thats a GM issue, but maybe we just blame ran and let Brinker off Scott free

You think Roseman made the call to move on from Byard based on the DC? Good grief dude... you need to stop.

Lol.  Yeah, cause the titans FO has the same credibility of Howie Roseman.

When you win a SB, you get the benefit of the doubt.  Especially when you had the best roster in The league.   We, otoh, have the worst roster
