He just doesn't write. He does a million side projects and loves his TV shows and people just need you accept it's not a priority beyond lip service and it's not happening. Maybe the next book gets released eventually, never the finale.

For what it’s worth if he can get out of the corner he has painted himself into (young characters with a 5 year gap that vanished) and gets book 6 published then there’s a reasonable chance that he could do a 7th book far more quickly. But we’ll see…

Well for anyone who cares to read this, here are my (lengthy) thoughts now that I’ve had a chance to sleep on it.   I’ll start by saying I'm not sure I've ever been more hyped for an episode

I loved the fact that Theon won his fight cause he has no dick. Haha

If/When Winds is done, the major writing problems are done.  It's just the end game.

Winds should take care of moving all major pieces into their proper places for the climax.

That's the problem right now.  Dany needs to go west.  In order to do that, the east needs to be wrapped up.  For that to happen, the Battle of Fire (Greyjoys, Slavers Bay, Tyrion, Barristan, et al) happens with some deaths (most likely Barristan, Victarion Greyjoy, many named slavers).

The Battle of Ice (Stannis vs Boltons) should resolve most of the North.  Jon's resurrection will be interesting.

The big thing is making it all logical.  The characters need to all act according to their character and what they consider to be their best interests.  This is where the show fucked up in every major way.  It was all illogical, stupid, and forced.

Dream will be the final battles in King's Landing and vs the Others plus any resolutions (a la Scouring the Shire)... if it ever gets published.

Books 4 & 5 covered the gap. Now he just has to sit and write. That's the problem.

Rory McCann cast to replace Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll in Star wars.

I just looked up which SW character that is.  I liked the actor and character - one of the few redeeming ones from that show.  I think that was the last SW show I watched all of the way through, too.

I heard the latest one based on kids is decent.

Skeleton Crew has been great. Kind of a cross between The Goonies and Treasure Island, but in the Star Wars universe. You should definitely watch it.

This might be the only time I go back on my personal declaration not to watch any Star Wars content until Kathleen Kennedy is gone from Lucas Film. That's a hell of a casting choice.

I’m sure he already knows exactly what will happen and who ends up where, which presumably makes Dreams of Spring a bit easier to write than Winds of Winter where he has to put people in the right places to set up those endings. So I honestly think that the gap between the last 2 books should be much shorter than our current wait between books. Dance with Dragons came out in 2011 for god sakes.

Today marks 5000 days since Dance with Dragons was published.

Where is Winds of Winter George???
