Titans279
I don't think Tyrion has betrayed them. Cersei could clearly fulfill that "gold" betrayal from the curse now. And I still think Jaime will kill Cersei. Edited August 28, 2017 by Titans279

How would he be able to promise her child would rule otherwise? I believe we are supposed to assume he tried his best to save his future niece/nephew. As she was walking towards Jamie, I knew she was about to change her plans.
Jonboy
I think Jon ends up being named Aemon in the books. oldschool

Jamal has guests over and had to wait for them to shut up and go to bed so he could watch the show. I'll listen to every podcast I can find for the next few weeks and it will still be too few. Jon's post summarizes most of my thoughts at this point. Solid end. I have quibbles but that's all they are for this episode. There's definitely something to Tyrion's reaction at the end. Or as least they want you to think so. titansfb, Jonboy, and Justafan
Jonboy
I just realized...we're almost certainly getting a scene next season where Jon and Jaime have a friendly chat about how incest is okay aren't we? Justafan, and MadMax
NashvilleNinja
Tyrion being smitten with Dany would also explain why he's been so reluctant when she insists on riding into the fray.

Better still Jaime had enough. The show has always been about two wars....the war for Westoros and the war against the dead. And it still is with 6 episodes left. I have no idea how all this plays out, but it was snowing in KL. The north will have to be pushed back to KL, at which point Jaime might have to kill Cersei. pretty sure thats the whole reason they showed his kingslayer gold hand there at the snow scene. I've ready multiple theories already speculating that Tyrion double-crossed them and possibly even promised Cersei her child would rule since Dany can't have children (which explains the whole look he gives at the end when he sees Jon & Dany together). Some have even suggested he even knew she was going to double-cross them. This is interesting..... Last week Tyrion tried to talk to Danny about heirs, then this week he went out of his way to talk about how much he loved Cersei's kids.
titanruss
so you have to assume its some sort of cold flame from the dragon and no a freezing thing. it didnt melt the ice... but it didnt make more ice... it was lost like a jet of something else that just destroyed the ice. if it was ice it shot out... the dead could just silver surfer their way around /over the wall... maybe even freezing the ocean to walk around it Edited August 28, 2017 by titanruss
OILERMAN
Pretty lame that kicking Theon where his nuts used to be won him the fight. It's not like it still wouldn't do damage. titanruss, StephenIsLegend, and Justafan

Betrayed for gold could refer to Varys or someone else from Essos buying the Golden Company out from under Cersei. It would be pretty damn funny of fAegon shows up in season 8. I think it's plausible the show runners fold fAegon into Jon since his name is also Aegon now. I have hard time believing GRRM will name Jon Aegon as well. I imagine a rift but hope it isn't too much a narrative focus.

I think the story arc is set up for Jon to sacrifice himself and allow Dany to become the "princess that was promised". The fact the show writers called out the interpretation of the prophecy at the beginning of season 7 is something I can't just shake.
