This wasn't Garland though. The Southern District of New York brought these charges and they are independent of the federal government. These are not federal charges, they are state charges. Yes, Alvin Bragg and Leticia James did a better job because they got results but frankly, even they moved a little too slowly. They got lucky that Trump didn't get favorable judges like Eileen Cannon that would allow him to run out the clock.
