White people have historically and still comprise the majority of the American population.  America was built through the blood, sweat, and tears of countless number of people who have achieved great things.  And if you look at history, we wouldn't be where we're at without the sacrifices of men, most of which were white.

Since the inception of wokeness (and to be honest before), there's been an overall attack on white men, rich people, and overall traditions that made this country a functioning society.

Do I think it's unwarranted?  No. Not completely. Many white men did stupid, immoral, and downright evil things. Even the ones who achieved greatness in other areas. For example, Chris Columbus. We have replaced Columbus day with indigenous peoples day or some other woke bullshit.

Do I think Chris Columbus is some sort of moral saint that I emulate my life after? No.  But to dismiss his achievements which were necessary for future sea travels westward is about as preposterous as a Titans homer saying, "Steve Mcnair was a bum because he was involved in sketchy relationships and was an immoral man." How idiotic is that? (For the record, when I was younger, I was appalled at Kobe's infidelity when it all came out)

We should be able to acknowledge greatness when we see it, and separate the sketchy parts of a person's life that also defines that individuals human existence.

He first ship had to sail to America. The first soldier had to die to free the slaves. The first men had to venture west to discover that vast expanse that led to the pacific ocean.

Newton said it best when he said, "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." We don't have to tear down the achievements of white men to do great things for ourselves today.

I hope I can retire my role as the official apologist for white people.  But if people keep unfairly attacking them for something they fundamentally cannot change, you leave me no choice.  If someone goes after black people, I'll do the exact same thing. That's the thing about racism. It goes both ways.

Except for all those enslaved individuals who did the dirty work. Slaves literally built the White House (oh the irony) and the Capitol.

Trump is genuinely an idiot running the country. Like an extremely low IQ individual. Bush was dumb in his ways but this is another level. Fascinating to watch him with even less guard rails

The biggest grift is the fact the GOP explodes the deficit every time they gain control of congress and the Whitehouse. They want $4.5T worth of tax cuts for the wealthy. Guess who pays for that? the

Alright homos- I’ve dipped out enough after the long-dicking y’all received since November.  I see the utterly defeated left on this forum is trying to re-coalesce after being totally embarrassed and hivemind some gay, post-apocalyptic “we shall survive” bullshit to cope about what the majority of Americans voted for.

Reminder.  You lost.  Bigly.  We don’t care about your crying.  We laugh at your objections.  You literally tried to ruin America and thank God we overthrew you.  Quote each other and continually spam the same very fake news sources that led you to this revolt of your ideology.  We don’t care.  You suck.  America rules.  We’re back to winning.  I’m back now for any who object to these simple truths 😂

49.81% to 48.34%, what a shellacking. Fuck those 48.34%, they had it coming.

All that rambling and you never addressed the actual quote, which looks forward and not back.

Do white men need to be in charge for things to work?

Yes, or no?

What labels might be reasonably applied to someone who says yes?

That's a part of American history too. The great thing about America is that we acknowledge our sins. Our history books are laced with documenting our iniquities.

Even as far as a couple years ago, Japanese history text books refused to acknowledge their war crimes during WWII. At this point, do I really care? Not really...

I truly believe although we should learn about the atrocities that our forefathers committed, our main focus should be on the binding principles that makes our country special, that made our predecessors achieve greatness, and that will inevitably unite us to Make America Great Again. (I wonder if I can get away with the last part without anyone noticing...)

Staffers with Elon Musk’s “department of government efficiency” (Doge) reportedly entered the headquarters of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (Noaa) in Silver Spring, Maryland, and the Department of Commerce in Washington DC today, inciting concerns of downsizing at the agency.

“They apparently just sort of walked past security and said: ‘Get out of my way,’ and they’re looking for access for the IT systems, as they have in other agencies,” said Andrew Rosenberg, a former Noaa official who is now a fellow at the University of New Hampshire. “They will have access to the entire computer system, a lot of which is confidential information.”

Project 2025, written by several former Trump staffers, has called for the agency to be “broken up and downsized”, claiming the agency is “harmful to US prosperity” for its role in climate science.

Now they can shut up all those pesky scientists who keep putting out the data that confirms climate change is actually occurring and accelerating. Drill baby drill! This actually scares me more than anything else. Future generatiions who have to deal with the harsh realities of the mess that's being created are going to look back and wonder how stupid and short sighted could they passibly have been.

What do you think about the statement in the tweet? I assume you disagree that white men have to be in charge if we want things to work?

If you look at the overall population, yes white men should be in charge of some(probably majority) positions in many fields.

Color should not be a factor. Purely based on competence.  I would love to be wrong and Asian men be in charge of everything.  Make me the overlord of this board, Soupy! I'll gladly moderate the hell outta all your asses

That's absurd. They don't HAVE to be in charge.  But it helps lol jk 😅

Duh.

Absolutely wild how you can't just acknowledge that tweet as racist. Read it, admit the obvious, move on. That you have to hem and haw and obfuscate is probably worth considering.

Now go ahead and look up who that guy is, who agreed with him and admit that it's a problem.

I don't care who that guy is. He wrote his tweet in a way that will obviously enrage his opps. He's probably like Titanpoke or some other variant.  Two wrongs don't make a right.

DEI and white supremacy are both dog shit. I don't care if the GM is Carthon or Bongonzi. Just get me that Superbowl!!!  Meritocracy should be the norm.

That's Trump's appointee to the State Department - the acting undersecretary for public diplomacy and public affairs. He's a former speech writer and was previously fired for associations with white nationalist events.

Of course you "don't care." If you acknowledged that it matters, you'd have reconcile that cognitive dissonance. Instead, it's just:

I "don't care" about 89.674% of the bullshit you write and I still learned to love your sexy ass, Soupy :)

I mean, if they just ignore judicial rulings (the freeze is still being implemented despite court rulings) ... who stops them? Themselves?

There’s only 3 ways this ends.

The first and probably least likely is Republican senators have had enough and vote to impeach with 2/3rds.

Second he is deposed internally by someone like a CIA.

Third is too many people revolt and overwhelm and military stands idle.
