I've seen articles saying Aiden O'Connell or Jake Browning would be affordable, solid stop-gaps. I would rather see us go with someone like them, trade down as much as possible, upgrade several other key positions, and draft a franchise QB in '26/'27.

Both are under contract for 2025.

He's ball placement accurate and throws with anticipation.  Probably the most mechanically sound QB coming out.

I don't know how anyone could watch the first half of that Texas/Georgia game and think geez I hope the Titans draft Carson Beck, the last thing this needs to do is waste more draft capital on a bum Q

I doubt any teams are worried about Deon's threats

Guys like ARod and Cousins are almost if not completely washed up now.   They certainly will be by 2027 when the stadium opens.

Titans are far more likely to sign a younger reclamation project and attempt to get lucky for the future.

The articles were referring to them as possible trade targets. Especially Browning, due to his history with Callahan. It was just talking about how both have been somewhat impressive in limited opportunities.

PK also mentioned he had heard the early whispers from inside the Titans facility is they would prefer to trade back in the first round in April.

There we go.

But let's see if those in the facility will be here after January

Cousins yes, Rodgers is quietly having a very good year. He's gotten better the the further removed from the achilles injury. The problem is father time comes for us all and we don't usually see it coming. He could fall off a cliff like Cousins, Ryan, even Manning.

Reports out of Pittsburgh suggest , that after 3 straight losses, the fans are clamoring to see Justin Fields again..

Just now reading up on their situation.  A month ago there was talk of re-signing Wilson.  After 3 losses in a row, Tomlin seemed down on him in this weeks remarks.

Last week I mentioned the Steelers as a sneaky team to watch regards Darnold as he presents a more medium term solution than Wilson would.

Doubt they would pay a contract like that. If they move on from Wilson, a big If, issue imagine Fields get his shot. He's actually a perfect fit for Smith's offense.

We'll see they have no starting QB under contract for next season and a similar current  amount of effective cap space as the Titans, they are not financially hamstrung if they choose to make a run at Darnold.

According to a report by Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers are convinced that the best option for 2025 is to give Russell Wilson a new contract. Additionally, due to the lack of names in the market, the veteran is the most reliable choice, and the goal will be to surround him with playmakers.

“They’d like to go ahead and keep Russell Wilson and re-sign him to keep him in Pittsburgh. Who’s gonna be out there that’s an upgrade over Russell Wilson right now? There are two logical first-round quarterbacks in the draft, they’re not gonna get either one of those. The top free-agent quarterbacks are gonna be Sam Darnold and Russell Wilson. Is there another quarterback in the trade market that all of a sudden gonna spring-free? Probably not. So, this is where the Steelers are.”
