He's ball placement accurate and throws with anticipation.  Probably the most mechanically sound QB coming out.

I don't know how anyone could watch the first half of that Texas/Georgia game and think geez I hope the Titans draft Carson Beck, the last thing this needs to do is waste more draft capital on a bum Q

I doubt any teams are worried about Deon's threats

Sam Darnold played for Shanahan in  San Francisco last season. There is quite a bit of chatter right now about whether and how much to pay Purdy, so stay tuned on that front..

Yes he has played RG this year but he was never going to oust Lane Johnson at RT, whether its RG or RT I just think Becton fits the size/bulk/power combo that Bill Callahan is looking for.

I think Becton makes the most sense at RT as well. He’s clearly a tackle body wise, at 6’7 with I believe close to 36 inch arms. Like you said he also fits the profile of the huge tackles it seems Sr prefers.

The other guy Id like also plays guard, Teven Jenkins. He played RT in college & he does have shorter arms but he’s an absolute unit. He had something like 36, 37 bench reps in the combine. It’s a bit of a risk because he’s only played guard but the Bears actually played him at LT as a rookie before missing the year with injury. But talent wise he’s much better than just about every option this year.

I think Wills is going to be the target. The Browns are moving on from him. 10th overall pick and when healthy, has been very very good. His health will keep his price tag down however the Titans would need some insurance at RT if they went that route.

Yeah I can see that with the obvious Callahan connection. I like Becton & Jenkins better but Wills was an absolute monster in college & a solid LT. I’d be fine with him.

I agree with you about Callahan Sr & his dubious decisions this year BTW.  I still have no idea why they moved Radunz to guard. He was a half decent RT last year & should’ve been kept there with Brunskill at RG. Who knows though, he’s been awful at C, it just seemed like a huge unforced error at RT the whole season to me.

They should do that and draft some RT with a mid round pick with upside that can be developed into a starter like CLE did w/Dawad Jones.

They have four picks in rounds 4 and 5.  Perfect place to use one on a RT.

I guess they almost have to pay a RG in FA as well, even at a mid level type.

My guess is they didn't do enough to address RT, either FA targets fell apart or the draft didn't go their way so they had to make due. In the end, carthon and the Callahans went into the season with NPF starting at RT and he's still starting their 16 games later when he should have been cut.

Back on topic though, This is a great year to need OL in FA assuming not all of them resign before FA kicks off. Lots of options.

There is the cap casualty guys as welll.  I’m thinking mostly for G.  I do not want them overpaying for that spot.

No question. RG is also interesting. You could make a case for spending there on a Trey Smith or Teven Jenkins & using the pick on RT. Fans will hate it but if we wind up in the 7-8 area it could make a lot of sense.

There is zero case for taking a RT that high. They are lots of options in FA plus round 3-4 options in the draft. Don't forget Brunskill and Radunz are both free agents as well so they will need to address the right side plus swing tackle this offseason.

I’m just saying, you don’t know how things will shake out in FA though I’d be shocked if we don’t rope in one of the top options at RT with the current cavernous hole there…

They already have youth on the left side.  They need a vet starter at OL somewhere , preferably at RT.

I wonder which team will be the first team to do this:  Lease some AI engines.  Give them the task to learn all about the QB position, and what makes a perfect QB,  then have the find one, maybe by reading all local news at every single college campus in America searching for a list of attributes for a QB: poise, strong arm, football analytical mind, read defense, quick release, fast decision maker, pocket awareness....etc. etc. etc.     Then have QB scouts study all film on those candidates, then meet with them, then run drills, with the goal of finding the perfect one or two. Then draft that person in the 7th.
