Got it. Every bad decision is Carthon's or his inability to execute the strategy outlined by his shadow boss, Brinker whom you absolve of any responsibility.

They could both be wrong.  Brinker for the strategy and Carthon for the implementation.

He's ball placement accurate and throws with anticipation.  Probably the most mechanically sound QB coming out.

I don't know how anyone could watch the first half of that Texas/Georgia game and think geez I hope the Titans draft Carson Beck, the last thing this needs to do is waste more draft capital on a bum Q

I doubt any teams are worried about Deon's threats

They are going to heavily scout them and take one with a top 5 pick? Or move up to get one. Provided one grades out. Otherwise they will go the retread route but the problem there is the only real option is Darnold and he'll cost a ton.

That's about what I posted.  They want to draft a QB.

Btw, spotrac has Darnold's AAV at 32M.  I don't see the Titans competing in that market or anywhere close to it.

The implementation is doing a lot worse than the strategic side.

I'd love to know how the Ran fan boys want to explain why half his job, and arguably a critical piece of it, got yanked away from him.  Coincidentally at the same time Vrabel was telling the world Ran was in over his head and that Levis sucked.

If they aren't in top 2 I think hey very well could go after Darnold which would scare they hell out of me.

They are stuck due to their blown picks at qb.  If they had more ammo they could conceivably make  a Carolina level trade up, not that that would be the best decision.

They can’t go the Raiders route this year since they need to win.  And the other qbs out there aren’t really plug and play qbs you can win with.

Taking the fanboy FA side out of it , you could kind of see some of the damn moves flaming out in retrospect.

Sneed and Auwizie were injury risks and Murray’s issues in space were pretty well known.  Ridley was never going to deliver the ROI.  Assuming he returns from injury , I have no issue with Cushenberry signing or the Pollard.

It’s just that you gotta build the trenches and can’t leave it half assed like what they did at RT.

And if they bothered investing in the DL,  they probably would have gotten an extra sack or two or maybe they get a stop on one of those critical downs.

That part , along with the Levis selection are all on Carthon.

Although I don't love it, the Ridley move is not horrid because he is a good player, Hopkins was always gone after 2024, and the rest of the WR group was completely unproven.

Didn't care for the defensive guys they spent money on.  No clue WTF they were thinking at RT or for just handing Levis the starting job after what was on tape.

Wasn't Brinker the one receiving credit last summer when our fans were parading us the offseason champs lol

If they think Darnold can be another Mayfield, Smith, Cousins, etc... thats worth paying for a few years.

This draft class could look very different in two months time if Nussmeier, Allar and Milroe return to CFB next season, it would open up a massive chasm between Sanders and Ward down to the likes of Beck and Ewers.

If they don't find themselves in a position to take Sanders or Ward using a singular first round pick they need to punt on drafting a QB till 2026, they simply don't have the premium draft capital to be wasting more day 2 picks on developmental dart throw QB's.

Milroe is a top NIL money guy, so it would make sense for him to return if he doesn't think he'll be a top of the draft pick.

You frame it as a hypothetical....IF

Darnold is average.  19th in the league in QBR

While I don't disagree that Darnold is average, you will lead yourself down more dangerous paths if you use bad stats like QBR to judge a QBs value (Like you have with YPC)

Unless you think Derek Carr has been better than an "average" Herbert....
