They had a potential trade to move up to 3 which was never going to be for Stroud.

Shocker. I’ve never heard of such a report and I feel like that would be pretty big news.
scine09
8 hours ago, Number9 said: I look at what he did with what he had to work with. The Titans ran a PA offense and we had the #1 dude in the NFL to run it with go down. Tannehill had to take more responsibility, or rather his job got much more difficult. Teams were able to pay more attention to stopping him. He took a beating. His numbers suffered, but he stood in and won six out of nine games. These were must wins to get home field. The team was riddled with injuries. He couldn't count on who was going to be on the field. Julio wouldn't even travel with the team unless they agreed to bring his whirlpool. It was a tough year of all of them. Half the time he was missing AJ or Julio. It was a great team effort. Great coaching effort. Sometimes I forget just how good that team was fully healthy. They had a top offense and a D bad enough to get nine sacks in a playoff game. I don't care how many games they won. He wasn't very good. At best he was average. He had his moments but he didn't put together a complete game all year. He was good against the Seahawks and 49ers in the halves of both games but that's because he had to come back from lackluster first halves. The 2019 version of Tannehill was much, much better than the 2021 version. It was also better than the 2020 version to be honest. Mike Vrabel's 2021 coaching effort was top notch. He and his staff were the real heroes of that season. They won with a team that was pretty average even when healthy in terms of talent, and they were rarely healthy to begin with. It's why the 2022 season went the way it did. They regressed to the mean. The 2021 team was more of a 9-8 type team, which the numbers bore out, than a 12-5 team and they won some fluky games (Seattle, 2nd Indy game, Rams game when they did nothing at all on offense). Things went downhill because you can't keep winning like that. And they're still paying the price for it which is why they're in rebuild mode now. RisingTitanFan
The line is better. Tannehill becomes exponentially worse when the line becomes bad, and he becomes exponentially better when the line becomes good. Assuming last year was more about the known flaws in his game than him actually becoming washed, I suspect we would have seen a QB that looked like he could peak inside the top 10 again. Putting Tannehill behind the worst offensive line in football last year GUARANTEED you would get the production similar to what you saw.

The Cards GM played the Titans into getting a better deal for the pick from the Texans. I'm sure they tried to trade up but they never had a deal in place... thats Russini nonsense. I look at what a player does when the deck is stacked against him too.
