Derrick Henry is still an elite back.

I meant 31 year old, and yes after the meniscus he was washed. Not sure why this is hard to understand.

Yeah sure,,,,,,,,or you didn't bother to look it up,

But Henry ain't the same back since the foot either and he won't be getting better with age.  I think he may have 3 K in him.  Say he gets another 500 yards this year so he's roughly needing 2500.  Needs about 600 more carries for the duration assuming a 4.2 YPC clip.  Does he have 2 more bell cow seasons in him or say 3 or 4 RBBC seasons left?  Could go either way honestly.

It’s also worth noting that Henry led the NFL in rushing attempts and had zero fumbles….something hasn’t happened in almost 40 years.   The last guy to do this was Gerald Riggs way back in 1985.

Look at all those defenders chasing down a rolling tomato can!

Derrick Henry sure seems to get a lot of those "anybody could do it, perfectly blocked plays" ever since he was declared a bum by message board illuminati.    Luckiest back in history, I gue

Of course I didn't look it up. I remembered him tearing his ACL then having a huge year then completely falling off after another injury. I thought he was 31, not 30, and I thought it was another ACL and not a meniscus.

Once again, Analytical Bud not understanding a simple thing such as after the 1500 yard season AP's body completely broke down. That was age 31. Oh the horror that I thought it was age 30 and the 1500 yard season was age 29. Great point buddy!

I'm saying I don't see that happening with Henry for a lot of reasons. And once it doesn't and he's in the HOF I'm going to laugh.

It was a great point since you claimed Henry was far more athletically advanced at the same age.  You also didn't see him breaking down in 2021 from all the carries yet here we are.

I don't see anything like the AP breakdown that happened, but yeah we'll see. Once he came back from the second injury he was a shell. Henry doesn't look like that at all.

Also, I'm not even talking to you so much as others who have said he'd be lucky to even hit 10k, which is ridiculous.

Alexander fell off the cliff pretty bad.  Let's assume that he gets the next 1500 yards easy (games left in 2023 + 1000 yard season in 2024).  That leaves him around 1,500k yards short of 12,000.  I don't know if he'll hang around that long or will get the carries going forward in 2025.

It depends.  The problem he'll face is that he only fits a few teams scheme wise willing to give carries to a two down back.

Age is undefeated and he's clearly not as good as he was last year and even before the foot he has started to slow down some.

Yep that will be his problem. I think he'll fit in well with a team like Baltimore or even re-sign here for a cheap deal.

Baltimore would work.  They would run the ball with him but he wouldn't get the excessive carries, plus they have a decent OL.

Maybe but they've got young, fast, cheap RB's.  The unrestricted FA at 30 is a massive deal in reality, especially for someone who will be facing a huge reality on what the market will pay.

I don't think he's slowed down much. As you noted about their age with AP he still had over 200 more carries and then tore his meniscus. I personally don't see the same decline happening, and even then AP still went on for 5 more years and accumulated another 2.5 k yards. I think the same happens without as sharp a decline with Henry.

Someone will want him because he sells jerseys as long as he can still tote the rock. I don't see that sharp decline at all. I see a sharp decline in the talent around him.

Henry will also be cheap. He fits in with several teams who want to establish the run and not have turnovers. His best bet will be to sign a cheap 2 year deal.here if it's offered or go to a team like Baltimore or Minnesota who work their passing game through big sets and PA.

If Vrabel is the coach, Henry will be back.

And if the Titans get the OL fixed, Henry will get 1500 yds next season.

And Tannehill will not be on the Titans.

3 things that will hopefully drive some posters on this board to end their existence.

I don't see him ever going for 1500 again, but if he's back on the Titans and they can fix the line he'll get 1k at least.

He's at 9k right now with 6 games left. He's going to get carries. So let's say around 400 yards conservatively and that puts him at 1100 and 9400 total. If he comes back next year and does the same thst jumps him up to 10500. So for the rest of his career he would need 1500 yards to hit 12k and 2500 to be top 10. I don't see how that's much to ask unless he gets hurt. The guy is still a damn good RB.
