Hell yeah! John Calvin & friends never burned "heretics" at the stake. Protestants never burned "witches". All the bad stuff was the Catholics fault! That's the ticket!

There's simply no defense for what has taken place. This wasn't a military encounter; this was terrorism plain and simple. There's a huge difference. It's unjustifiable and has setback peace for decad

The 6 billion was Iranian money from prior oil sales and held in South Korea.   In addition, it wasn't turned over directly to Iran.  The money is to be used for humanitarian purposes and pa

I won't be surprised if we find out there was a cover up on the intelligence of a potential attack 2 weeks ago so that Netanyahu could get his war with Hamas and Gaza.

I’m not one to prescribe to conspiracy theories but I agree

Arguably The most well defended area on the planet misses 1500 terrorists training and planning an attack that Egypt warned them about, there’s also the reports that Hamas expected to get less than 10 hostages and couldn’t believe how little resistance they faced

I think Netanyahu might be on a personal mission to erase Palestine after militants killed his brother

But why was Israel given back to the Jews after so long? What was the rationale?

Well, after the Holocaust (which was really just a cap to centuries worth of antisemitetic discrimination and pogroms across Europe), the West decided that Jews had suffered endlessly at the hands of Christian-dominated Europe. So there was a general agreement that they should have a country of their own so that they were no longer the persecuted minority.

Israel's location was picked because of the biblical/historical connection. The British had conquered the Ottoman Empire during WW1 so they had control over Palestine and could largely do what they wanted. After WW2 the West agreed to use part of that territory to create a new state of Israel where the original Israel existed.

There were also plans over the years to re-settle Jews in Ethiopia or Uganda. Not surprisingly, the locals were no more happy with the idea of arbitrarily losing their land to a bunch of immigrants than the Palestinians were. Would they have made better options? Seems unlikely, but who knows…

Also, being a divisive figure in Israel and getting voted in and out of office over the years, maybe he thought it would improve his personal standing if he was seen as leading Israel following a brutal terrorist attack (like George Bush immediately after 9/11).

The Jews suffered endlessly under Christian-dominated Europe and Muslim-dominated countries.

That’s life being in any extreme religious minority almost anywhere on earth. Majorities inherently oppress minorities.

Jews were going to be a minority group in every country up until modern Israel was founded.

There is ample reason to not support Israel to any and all ends when a ceasefire is an alternative

The idea of a ceasefire is completely laughable and unrealistic, imo

Either rotten to the core of their souls, or they have no soul. Same result either way.

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say just innately tribalistic to the core and heavily misguided.

The left’s version of Trump cultists.
