I still consider it fair because Vrabel deciding to go into a shell when we've gotten a solid lead and the other team shows they can't produce offense isn't a new development. It's the smart move, as much as it bugs me at times. Especially when you consider our skill position issues and our crappy pass blocking. Oh those things won't show up in the total offensive numbers either. But the key thing unlike the agenda driven OP is that they won.

They are basically playing a variation of Fisherball right now until the rest of the offensive and defensive reinforcements come off IR. Which is fine by me. Not sure what they do at PK when Ficken comes off though. I'd go with him but I have no idea what his injury situation is.

The style the Titans play works against bad teams and poor passing offenses. It doesn't work against guys like Mahomes, Herbert, Rodgers etc. Now that being said the current state of the OL in pass protection gives Vrabel all the cover he needs right now to get conservative. CreepingDeath
2 hours ago, oldschool said: the offense was fine in the 1st half. 4 drives, 3 scoring drives (12 plays TD, 10 plays MFG, 15 plays FG). The final drive was with a min left in the half. In the 3rd They went 4 and out on the 1st possession and then went 12 plays for a TD on the next drive. After that the game was over and the offense went into a shell to grind out clock. Drives 1-7 2 TDS, a FG, and a missed MFG. Drives 8-11 a FG and victory formation on the last drive Whoa, whoa here! What kind of fuzzy math are you throwing out here?? You count a MISSED FG as a "scoring drive"? WTF? Do INTs count as "scoring drives" since the potential was there to actually run into the endzone if the result of the play changed just a tad? Then you dismiss the other drives somehow, too, to better paint your fantasy. This is another example of the misinformation being peddled as "facts." 1 hour ago, oldschool said: @Jamalisms entire angle here is disingenuous and he knows it. If we had a 5 game sample of the offense with and without Henry with all the other factors being static he might have a point. Instead we all know the collapse of the offensive skill position groups is a huge factor that can't be ignored and yet thats exactly what he's doing to push his narrative and damage the e-cred of @OILERMAN and others who think Tannehill is more important to team success than Henry or any other RB. Here oldschool is calling another "disingenuous" after posting the above misleading numbers. 1 hour ago, oldschool said: 100%. No one said Henry wouldn't be missed like the OP is insinuating in this thread and others. "No one" is a hard hurdle to jump. Wasn't a thread made the day of Henry's injury that him being put on IR was a "blessing in disguise" as the offense will become unleashed? A few more were expecting the 1st down runs to vanish, too. (I'm aware that the Jags game... 5 games into Henry's absence... had noticeably more 1st down passing. So, perhaps it is eventually working it self out??) They were saying on the radio that it allowed not only for subbing lower snap players but also trying some new play calling methods between RT and Downsing. They're speculating that TD threw a pick three or something at RT and let him choose. Seemed like Art/RT relationship and playcalling was more fluid. So this is good to hear. The point was the offense was very efficient in the first 3 drives with 10+ play drives. Typo on the scoring drive bit doesn't negate the fact nor give weight to your silly attempt to catch me in being disingenuous. Try harder next time. BudsOilers
I'd add that the whole "blessing in disguise" discussion about the offense without Henry was about being less imbalanced/predictable on 1st down and it was also based on the assumption that the top 3 WR's would not get hurt in a span of 2 games....... And for what it's worth, in the literal one game that they had their starters at WR, they were 55/45 run/pass in the 1st half as opposed to 62/38 run/pass in the first 8 games,,,,,In fact, the only game where they've been really run heavy in the 1st half of games was NE (80/20 run to pass) where they played 73% heavy sets because of the WR issues (only dressing Rogers, NKI, and Hollister). titanruss
the offense was pretty bad against possibly the worst team in the nfl. but it was an improvement!

I think I remember that blessing in disguise comment but can't remember who made it. When pressed on it I think the person was trying to refer to it as more of a silver lining but got the expressions mixed up. I specifically remember making a comment about how there was no blessing in what had just happened (Henry injury).
