The country was definitely less divided though before Trump got through with destroying what was left of the fabric of unity we had via the Big Lie, and that has only gotten worse through the hyper politicization of the pandemic. It’s not that Biden is weak, his response to Ukraine is far stronger than Obama’s ever was. And he was only one that had the courage to pull the plug on Afghanistan, even though the pull out was operationally botched on the front end. But our country is weaker from the inside because of all the division and political unrest. These autocrats like Putin and Xi have made a calculation that we don’t have the resolve as a Democracy or the political will to unite for an international cause, and unfortunately they may be right.
