Our air force could take on anything or anybody in the world. But air power cannot hold territory. You’d still have to get army in there. That said, Russia never had the numbers to do that, to occupy hostile territory, on the scale they set out in Ukraine with so many fronts. Looks like they’ve botched pretty much every military planning assumption. Edited April 3, 2022 by begooode IsntLifeFunny, and tgo

It pretty much can smother anything.

This is already happening. The event wasn’t a Putin apologia like those found in some corners of the right. Instead, the phrase of the day seemed to be “Putin is bad, but …” The attendees, who included paleocons, libertarians, and hard-core MAGA acolytes, offered variations on that tune according to their policy preferences: Putin is bad, but we don’t want a nuclear war. Putin is bad, but why should we trust the American foreign-policy establishment? Putin is bad, but the media is in thrall to the U.S. intelligence apparatus. The broad consensus: Putin is bad, but why is that our problem? https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2022/04/republicans-divided-us-involvement-ukraine/629458/ tgo, and pat 1
pat
It's time to throw Russia out of the UN, close the sky to all Russian forces, and hit every single Russian position in Ukraine. The only reason to delay is if there's any doubt in missle defense. In which case step 0 is to remedy that, then proceed. Russia is going to remain a genocidal threat for years. tgo
reo
I haven't supported direct military action in Ukraine and I'm not calling for it now.... but I'd support it if Biden decided to do it.
