Which sucks for conversation. These ain't the Libya days with Obama where there was a real discussion to be had. If you support Trump you're too stupid to conversate with at this point. Doesn't help with dialogue and now this place will be updates instead of conversation and jokes.
ctm
President Donald Trump told his aides to prepare for an extended US Naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the Wall Street Journal reported, as the US looks to intensify economic pressure on Iran as the war enters its third month. The president, in meetings with top aides, decided to continue putting pressure on Iran’s ability to export oil by stopping any vessel heading to or from the Islamic Republic’s ports, the newspaper reported on Tuesday night. Trump determined that was a less risky option than resuming bombing or extracting the US from the conflict entirely, the outlet said. The decision suggests that the US could be moving into a lengthy period with the fighting largely halted, but no durable resolution to the conflict, and the status of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz still uncertain. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-tells-aides-to-prep-for-lengthy-hormuz-blockade-wsj-says-015557897.html Trump's bet here is that the damage to Iran's economy will cause them to soften their position faster than the damage to the US and global economy will do the same. Jmo....that's a losing bet. ChemEngr79, IsntLifeFunny, MadMax, and 1 other 3
Popular Post Jamalisms
It's a lose / lose scenario except that he never has to admit he lost if he never gives in. The world and the US lose so that Trump can pretend he didn't. Yay! nine, MadMax, ChemEngr79, and 3 others

ctm
After a brief dip about a week ago, the price of oil is rising again. As long as the Strait is closed and Iran blockaided, this isn't going away. Trump just turned down Iran's offer to open it back up and he refused. He doesn't seem to realize that time isn't on his side.

nine
Trump was convinced he could bully Iran and dictate the terms with a quick outcome…but quickly lose control of the entire situation. landing the United States into an un-winnable stalemate we can’t even get out of, Trump misplayed his hand so badly, he hosed up the entire global economy in just a couple weeks… not just here in the United States but worldwide. Every country is now paying the price and dealing with the fallout of Trump’s incompetent folly. And true to form, Trump refuses to accept responsibility for his actions and has absolutely no answers or solutions for the mess he’s created. Every decision and every move he’s made over the past two months has either gone nowhere and gained us nothing …or they’ve backfired and blow blown up in his face, leaving us in a worse position than when we started. Now his genius solution is to just sit and wait it out….but still with no vision of any timeframe or endgame and no clue how long it might take. The sheer incompetence we’ve seen is simply unfathomable . Making America a Goddamn Embarrassment. ChemEngr79
IsntLifeFunny
Keeping the strait blockaded is the worst of all outcomes in terms of the global economy and real people's lives who subsist on what traverses the Strait. Not a big deal.

nine
Trump and Hegseth control the most powerful and most technologically advanced military the world has ever seen….and they went to war on a much smaller opponent with a much smaller military armed with mostly 1980s-90s technology, Despite a massive and overwhelming advantage in size, strength, and technology ….the United States has accomplished nothing. We’ve seen no strategic gains or benefit whatsoever. Two months after starting this war, the United States is locked in a stalemate with nothing to show for it. This is the equivalent of an NFL Super Bowl champion facing a D-II college team. The NFL team goes into the game favored to win by 50+….but at halftime the teams are still locked in a scoreless tie. It’s incredible that this country has put so much money and effort into a war…and has absolutely nothing to show for it. The stupidity and incompetence of this country’s leadership is absolutely appalling. Making America Great Again, indeed. ChemEngr79

nine
Trump once again willfully ignoring the law and trying to bypass Congress with fabricated loopholes that don’t actually exist….this time by pushing his own definition of how a calendar works and which “calendar days” shouldn’t count against him. https://apnews.com/live/donald-trump-news-updates-05-01-2026
