Maybe the army will refuse to fire on their own people but doubtful. I am waiting for any comment from Bernie, AOC, Talib, etc. Voting rights, freedom, etc. you would think they would be all over this but just silence. Not sure I'd go that far, especially since most of the people of Cuba wouldn't be receptive to it, but I hope that somehow these protests will grow and produce results. To me, it's the purpose of any government that isn't mortally flawed, which is why the American Democratic Republic is best system of government ever devised, imo. The President of the United States already expressed solidarity with the people of Cuba. Fuck the squad. They are NOT the bread and butter of the Democratic Party. Sure, but by natural law - are inferior governments that shouldn't exist. Humans have the inherent right to govern themselves, but whether they protect that right from usurpers is up to them. If we have a king then we need to either choose to live by the rules set by government or we need to choose to revolt. Any government can be overthrown if the people are willing to risk their lives and their security. If you live under a popular, benevolent ruler who has reasonably taken care of his people then they aren’t likely to try to overthrow him.
