I watched the Netflix documentary "Game Changer" last night.  It went over the growing movement in sports to eat plant based diets for performance reasons including a man breaking strength world record and distance and sprint athletes breaking records.

Schwarzenegger produced the documentary and was in one segment.

One segment was on Derrick Morgan, when he played for Titans. It started with his wife, who is a chef and nutritionist, getting him to eat a plant based diet, he saw benefits to performance, had her bring his lunches since he could not get much selection at Titans facility, and in a months he had around ten other players go from making fun of him to joining him in eating his wife's food with her brining them lunches everyday too.  Morgan supposedly had his best season, and he said his threshold for fatigue increased so he could stay on the field in peak more and he noted his recovery from injury was noticeably faster.

I think I recall reading about this when it happened.  Was it covered in Titans news much?

I try to eat more plants as much as possible but it's tough. I feel pretty damn weak when I skip a protein

Just eat more plants that have more protein. Nuts, seeds, and beans are great sources.

I sometimes think of the old tiger tails hanging out of the gas tank flap.  The peeps in Nashville should revisit this and start a new Henry tail trend!

Great for healing.

too difficult to get all the protein and amino acids needed especially in a league with way too many supplement restrictions.

All the dudes that did it with the titans started to suck after a year and I'm not sure if any are still in the league

A plant based diet is the wave. If you step back and look at reality, you'll find a lot of your preconceived notions were actually implanted by marketing teams from the meat, dairy, and egg industry. There's no such thing as "good fat."

The longest lived civs in the history of the world (with or without modern medicine) were plant-based. The shortest lived civs were mainly carnivores or high fat.

Even the food pyramid is a fucking lie. Do your own research.

You could also say our defense nosedived after they left.

From personal experience I was plant based for 4 years and was in the best health and shape of my life. I went back to eating "regular" during the quarantine and my blood pressure shot up 30 points, my wind is gone, and I gained 20 pounds.  The crazy part is I don't even eat junk or even a lot of meat and almost no dairy (the absolute worst) but it seems to still be taking it's toll. I really don't want to go back to plant based but if my health doesn't improve soon I will. I'm hoping it's more the stress of the year plus less activity, but most "regular" food is just too high in fat and too low in fiber to block the fat I do intake.
