The guy who won the Republican nomination for governor in Wisconsin yesterday doesn't even live in Wisconsin. He's also got a significant chance to win and become governor of a state he doesn't even l

Republican politicians and associated committees are sending out desperate fundraising emails begging the GOP faithful to help save America by getting behind Herschel Walker in his Dec. 6 runoff race

This place has resorted to chastising centrist positions, entrenched history dating back decades, and real world experience because anyone dares to doubt Trump’s ability to carry out dictatorial management of the military, ffs.

Tuberville goes from the dumbest guy in the senate to the key player in the ultimate military takeover. No, no, he’s a useful idiot,.. Except that almost every repub senator has shit on him for fucking over our military leaders’ lives and potentially compromised our readiness.

imoTuberville is more akin to Paul Rand’s “I stand alone” grandstanding and fundraising rather than the boogeyman working to enable Project 2025.

Seriously? You take what a republican says at face value? History shows that to be very wrong.

No, of course I don’t take either party at face value.  I tend to subscribe to Occam’s razor. It just doesn’t seem very likely to me that there is a grand conspiracy and it does seem likely that he’s pushing a pro life agenda.

LOL, still trying to act like you can make arguments outside of ad hominem attacks.

Regan’s history is debatable, but many of our nation’s accomplishments during his presidency are not. My ego is not important as I said I’d rather share ideas and learn than yell and chastise, and accordingly I conceded that Regan was likely overrated. Butthurt?! Wtf are you 15 years old, LOFL

I'm not going to recount each of the past 10 or so posts, but I'll add my 2 cents.

After 2016, It's fair to think anything is damn near possible politically. Fair to have a healthy respect and concern about where the tides are shifting.

But this ain't it...

Tuberville isn't a brilliant political strategist. He's a somehow popular football coach that is also a religious zealot. Tea leaves end there.

If you want to believe Bannon and some these wacko, hard right people are pulling the puppet strings for something like that in dark rooms, well... that's certainly your prerogative. They're liars, some might be trying, but they're consistently not that smart.

I'm not diving into that rabbit hole, and honestly, this isn't too far from some of the right-wing nonsense I hear. You're not a part of the solution and those of you worried about this specific event are about two phases away from looking for JFK Jr. in Dallas.

Lol. It's obvious you have no idea what you are talking about.

Let's play a game. You think the COS appoints those generals?  Which COS are you referring to?

Officially? The President of the United States. Here's the process as I understand it, feel free to dispute:

In the United States military, regular officers are nominated for promotion by the President of the United States. The process is as follows:

  1. Recommendation by a Promotion Board:

Regular officers are evaluated for promotion by a promotion board, which is a panel of senior officers who review the officers' records, performance, and potential for higher rank. The board assesses the officers based on established criteria, including leadership abilities, professional knowledge, and overall performance.

  1. Submission of Board Results:

The results and recommendations of the promotion board are then submitted to the Secretary of Defense.

  1. Secretary of Defense Review:

The Secretary of Defense reviews the recommendations and may provide additional input or considerations.

  1. Presidential Nomination:

The President of the United States, upon receiving the recommendations and considering any additional input from the Secretary of Defense, officially nominates officers for promotion. The President's nominations are then forwarded to the U.S. Senate for confirmation.

  1. Senate Confirmation:

The U.S. Senate has the authority to confirm or reject the President's nominations. Once confirmed, the officers are promoted to the next higher rank.

Formatting got fk'd up but I don't feel like fixing it.

They are recommendations. He does not have to follow them. But I would absolutely love it if you showed me where this is wrong b/c I don't want it to be right. It's just how I understand it and what i've found before.

It's very naive of you to think that Tommy did all that because of abortion.

100%.

Don't forget. This was one of the guys who spoke at the Jan 6th Trump "rally" to try and instigate the riot.

So they are just going to shelve all these promotion candidates to bring in another group of loyalists or blatantly filter through the current group and capriciously deny deserving promotions until they pinky swear an oath to maga?

Yes. The requirements for promotion will be loyalty to Trump.

Read up on Project 2024. It's not hidden.

And Tuberville is creating the path to do that exact same thing in the military.
