Oh, no!     Fox News is reporting that statements made by Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm during a TV interview last year were found to be in violation of the Hatch Act.

Is the Hatch Act still a thing?    After all,  the last administration openly and shamelessly flaunted their own numerous violations of the Hatch Act...and when specifically asked about these repeated violations, they publicly mocked it and dared anyone to do something about it.

I suppose the Hatch Act is really nothing more than an honor system....which doesn't apply to those who have no sense of honor in the first place.

It’s a fucked up situation. I’m not sure why Biden gets mentioned.

I think it’s something you should see all the time.

Democrats would be making a bigger deal about it if Trump were president. Republicans won’t really because honestly they don’t actually care.

This is a common phenomenon.

It was the leading story on most news outlets including Drudge Report…

Right, it got reported on by the media but what the tweet says is neither Democrats or Republicans are going to make much of it.

It’s really terrible. I wanted to make a thread about it and stopped because honestly I’m already pissed off and sad enough. Fuck the politics, I’m tired of all this shit. 51 people dead in an 18 wheeler…welp welcome to the statistics I guess.

Durbin and Thom Tillis have restarted bipartisan negotiations on immigration reform as a result of the tragedy - as both are traveling together abroad on a diplomatic mission.

There’s apparently a deadline they have to beat to provide funding for healthcare subsidies otherwise insurance premiums will rise. That is going to largely force the issue on getting Manchin to vote for something. Just a question of what’s in the bill.

It was in the BBB bill, but obviously since he walked away from that they still need his vote or it will just piss off voters. Including his voters.
