OILERMAN
Trump's big claim in the 2016 was to put coal miners back to work. He wisely told them what they wanted to hear and even wore a hard hat while he did it. Hillary foolishly told them the truth, it was a declining industry and they needed to be retrained into other fields. Trump did nothing for coal miners(nothing he could do) and the industry fell off under Trump just like it had already been doing. Trump did say windmills caused cancer, maybe they helped slow down the coal decline! Trump also fucked over the farmers with the tariffs, of course he just gave them money, most of which went to large corporate farms. pamo9, and Starkiller

LMAO.....there are soo many examples and those dummies still never learned. remember the Foxconn manufacturing deal in Wisconsin? It was gonna create over 10k jobs and make the state billions? Never happened....LOL Jerry Blair, OILERMAN, Starkiller, and 3 others 2 1
OILERMAN
If you really want to credit something Trump did while in office it's the tax cuts. The Republicans passed the bill that massively cut taxes on the ultra wealthy/corporations who were already prospering. It wasn't paid for, ballooned the deficit and the public at large was against it. There were much smaller benefits for the middle class and even those expire in a few years while the cuts on the super wealthy were made permanent. His other big promise was to repeal ObamaCare, even though the Republicans offered no alternative. Trump did claim he had a plan on his desk that would make affordable health care for everyone, he even hinted at universal health care. He failed with this promise. People want to be told what they want to hear. It's why people keep falling for the shit. No one wanted to hear what Hillary said about coal, the truth. It was a good strategy by Trump. People are stupid as a whole, easily manipulated... politically telling the truth and making reasonable campaign promises is a loser. Tell them huge lies, even if you're painted orange with ridiculous hair and say goofy stuff! Jerry Blair, and Starkiller

I vote democrat because I believe they are the party that will actually govern and pass stuff to help working people(me). Yes I'd like to see Biden do this and actually think it would help him politically. It's not even a big deal, I'd rather see all the student loan debt forgiven and regulation on the entire loan industry but 10k would be a good start and look good. pat, and WG53

Bingo. the other aspect I see with the tax cuts is that because most ppl are in debt or living check/check they may know its bad overall, but the reality is they need these business to do well or their futures are at risk. I think alot of voters have this awareness deep down. Edited April 16, 2022 by VaTitan

Part of me thinks he's gonna do this as a political move before voting to juice up the base. This would be smart given the challenges dems have with turnout. The GOP is on an all assault on women's and voter's rights and have no plans to address healthcare, climate change, poverty, etc.... Anyone who remotely identifies as a democrat already has all the incentive they need to vote in November. Its a shame that many of them didn't learn the lesson of 2016 which gave us the worst President of all time and a generational majority on the supreme court because they didn't like the email lady. throw in the fact the GOP was mainly complicit in allowing Trump to attempt to steal the 2020 election and its mind blowing. I'll keep saying it, we deserve Trump and GOP authoritarian rule if morons don't get off their asses and vote. It appears to be trending that way. headhunter, Titans279, and pamo9 2
LongTimeFan
People will be voting against what the current administration is doing. The problem is not Dems getting out to vote, it's the people that the Dems are losing in droves. Sorry, the party's super left shift will cost them later this year. The one saving grace is that most of the Senate seats up this year are already Republican controlled.

headhunter
Noticed Oman didn't mention drilling. Coal for power plants is dying but there's dozens and dozens of different kinds of coal used for different things and that's why itll always be mined. Y'all think it's gonna disappear but it never will I promise you.
Titans279
Foreign policy only gets 2% here. The situation with Russia is only 9% too. The government/poor leadership getting the top billing is not good. You can see inflation becoming the dominant issue though. oldschool
