The only way he can actually appeal is if he posts pretty much the full amount in escrow which he doesn't have the money to do. So he's accruing interest as we speak of $10s of millions per day iirc. Then 30 days from Friday (iirc), NY will go after his properties as a way to get payment if he hasn't officially appealed the ruling. 

 

This is just him trying to appeal w/o actually appealing as he tries to buy time. His only way to really buy time is to try and do what Alex Jones is doing and file for bankruptcy and even then I don't know how much time it'd buy him especially since he's testified in court that he has the cash on hand to pay it.

He’s not bankrupt though. He can sell or mortgage properties he owns to cover the total. Bankruptcy for him wouldn’t work out.
