Vrabel and Tanneill

We don’t need Tannehill to improvise like Russell Wilson or Mahomes. Him playing how he’s playing is plenty good enough. He’s been incredibly efficient

The SEA OL is not good, but Wilson will take unnecessary sacks. There’s good and bad to a QB improvising.

Defense has to play better going forward if they want to be legitimate superbowl contenders.  Luckily, I think the biggest weakness is run defense and not pass defense.  Pass defense is much harder to correct during the season than run defense.  I expect by December Henry will be taking over games again and the defense will be playing much better to help augment an explosive passing attack.

We've got to hope that as the year goes on, Adoree returns (and to form), Fulton keeps learning on the job and becomes a viable starter level CB.  ILBs, S, OLB all very solid and I must admit that I've been pleasantly surprised by the DT depth.  Nothing stellar and yes run D an issue but Crawford seems OK and Mack, Murchinson at least putting in some meaningful reps.

Also feeling somewhat better on OL as Sambrailo has been functional as well. Since we all know that Lewan is always guaranteed to miss reps if not games.  Don't even want to talk about Wilson but can only hope that MAYBE he can at least be an active backup by end of year.

If they can fix their 3rd and long defense to just be average, that would be huge.  The hysterical thing is that this defense is 9th in scoring defense and has forced the 3rd most takeaways

I agree.  I like the overall philosophy but letting teams convert and continue to take shots will equal points eventually.  You can see the talent though.  Sometimes it just takes some time.

Reminds me of the Titans seasons under Vrabes. Adaptation is the word of the day when describing the team since he took over.

I was somewhat pointing in our Pats South direction.

Did you see their numbers over the last 16 compared?

Mahomes rushes more and fumbles less...

Would be interesting to see their 3rd down conversion stats pass/rush compared.

Mahomes gets sacked less too I think.

There's much more to it than the overall stats but yeah, RT is doing almost everything very well rn.

The Chiefs have more speed.  That to me is the biggest difference.

Mahomes is a better playmaker. They arent as reliant on the run game as we are ( or at least reliant on teams keying on it).. nor the PA to generate a pass game.

Mahomes is better after the 1st read and creating downfield plays with his feet by extending plays very very often.

Yes, chiefs have more speed.

We are last in the league.  I get we have been without Adoree all year, but outside that, every other team had the same weird off-season we did, yet they aren't allowing conversions at a 60% clip.

We're also missing Jurell Casey. Granted, that's the Titans fault, but he and Simmons would have been causing problems for offenses on 3rd down.

Listen to this hack backpedal. Guy finally decided to actually check the numbers. LOL @ top 12 though...

The comparison with Lamar Jackson is ridiculous.  People keep comparing Ryan Tannehill with running quarterbacks.  He's a much better passer.

Something that got mentioned last night was Tannehill commenting on how effective Vrabel was at holding his players accountable, obviously inferring that was something that didn't happen with the Dolphins. When you hear that you tend to correlate that with coaches like Coughlin who, while they have initial success, create a toxic environment that players stop buying into by treating them like high school age students at a military academy. Vrabel does it differently; he holds his players accountable yet at the same time is a 'players coach' who puts his players safety and health (injury wise) first by closely monitoring reps and giving guys days off for maintenance purposes and not rushing guys back from injury. He's also damn good at game management as was once again evidenced by the end of half sequence last night.

I corrected @tgo on it once. He corrected it for like a day and then went back to "Mahommes." ?

Didn't want to feel like a jerk and keep correcting him so I just held my tongue. Now I see he's infected more of you so I had to speak up and say something!

Oh shit I forgot I was spelling that wrong! Thanks for the reminder ?
