To put that into perspective, New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick has won 291 career games. The 68 year old Belichick would have to average 11 wins for another five years to catch Shula, who retired at age 65."
TitansGuru
Shula also coached in 14 game seasons the first decade or so of his career.

rns90
I thought he died years ago. But he became really overated during the later part of his MIA coaching stint.
CreepingDeath
Read that he only had two losing seasons.
Denali
I guess he couldn’t go undefeated on this one.

OilerTitanHybrid
Shula retired at 65 with 347 wins and lived another 25 years! Belichick is already 68 and still needs 56 wins to tie Shula! Belichick will be at least 73 years old, or more, before/if he can break Shula's record. Then, he's gotta live another 25 years to match Shula's retirement years enjoyment. Might as well say Belichick needs to live to 100 to match Shula!

sunworshipper
Shula wasn't overrated as a coach. But his later teams were only good, not great, because he had assumed general manger powers by then. And he was rather mediocre at both drafting and choosing free agents. OILERMAN
Shula with Marino was completely overrated and did a terrible job maximizing his talent Letting him throw the ball non stop and ignoring the running game and defense was stupid
