BobbyCoins
Why BTC stayed above $50k during the dip. https://bitcoinmagazine.com/markets/why-bitcoin-stayed-above-50000 Much is being speculated as to the cause of this, including coal mine explosions and electrical grid blackouts in the Chinese province of Xinjiang. And with a decline in Bitcoin’s hash rate, a price correction pushed its value down to a low of ~$50,000. Yet, despite the panic selling, we didn’t break the important $50,000 level. Why? Simply because Bitcoin carries on functioning 100% in spite of the hash rate drop. Transactions are being processed, blocks are mined, and coins carry on trading and exchanging freely. Bitcoin’s hash rate may have dropped over 40% in a single day, but what global monetary standard or payment network could survive something similar and not have a single user denied service? Swift? Visa? Mastercard? The dollar, the pound, the euro, or the yen? There are none. Edited April 21, 2021 by NashvilleNinja titanruss

BTC guys, ETH guys, ADA guys, DOGE guys all sound like DC and Marvel fanboys going at it with each other over which is better. I dont think anything would replace BTC for what it does. The consensus among pretty much everyone is that it's the reserve and will stay that way. Corporations adding crypto to their balance sheets are pretty much only considering BTC. Eth on the other hand has the largest amount of second layer solutions going on but even then, unless eth2 has some great upgrades, there are already better and more efficiently coded coins that basically eliminate gas prices and have more security and ability for larger numbers of transactions in a shorter time. will be an Interesting battle there in a few years. Ada, dot, eth, sia... ethos killing it but those other guys are better/faster/stronger right now.
titanruss
Also fun local story here.... https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/bitcoin/jackson-tennessee-to-hold-bitcoin-and-pay-employees-in-cryptocurrency Jackson TN adopts BTC and is giving options to pay employees in it as well as have the city mine it and keep it on the balance sheet. Lol.. if Jackson TN becomes the citadel I'm going to puke.
