Which is about 7/8x what it was 7 years ago. Its been a fun ride. BTC just chilling and consolidating above 100K, hell even ETH is pumping these past few days. Awaiting the next leg up. Bullish as fuck. Does anyone have any guesses about BTC top predictions this cycle? Edited January 31, 2025 by Supdawg OilerTitanHybrid

Does anyone have any guesses about BTC top predictions this cycle? Excitement abounds dawg bro! No thoughts really on the top this cycle. I'm looking more like 10 years out (maybe less), when my crypto port. - if everything stays on schedule - should be worth over a millie all by itself. So glad I blindly dumped cash into the shit about 4 years ago. lol Didn't care if it went to $0 or not, but didn't really think it would. I hadn't looked into understanding it at all back then. Would loved to have gotten in sooner of course, but I wasn't ready, as most people aren't ready even today. One of Michael Saylor's sayings is "Everyone gets Bitcoin at the price they deserve." So true! Saylor was a sceptic himself at first, until he finally looked into it and understood it. In the end though, he got it at the price he deserved... And the rest of his story, is history. abenjami
Question for the crypto experts. When I transfer BTC from Coinbase into an online sportsbook, the transfer is complete within seconds. When I transfer BTC back out from the sportsbook to Coinbase, there is a significant delay and I have to wait out a "pending" process. WTF? I thought one of the main selling points of crypto was efficient immediate transfers between wallets?

Before BetMGM, I wagered through an offshore sportsbook in Antigua that used BTC, but I never withdrew any and put it in Coinbase back then, so no idea really. When I put funds into Coinbase now, if it's over a certain amount (like $1000) there's a couple day waiting period before I can withdraw it again, for fraud protection purposes, but it's still almost instant deposit. Not sure if your sportsbook is doing the "pending" process to help prevent fraud maybe or not.

If BTC transactions are settled in seconds, they aren't on chain or they are pseudo chain. Coinbase may have a relationship with the sportsbook that allows electronic movement of "BTC", which likely is just cash settled, and when you want to withdraw, the sportsbook has to send the BTC on-chain, which can take a few minutes to get picked up in a block. If the bitcoin blockchain were attacked by malicious miners or there was some kind of bug Coinbase would have a higher level of protection from "reverted" transactions. abenjami
Bitcoin has lost about 25% of its value in the past month or so. By comparison, the S&P has only lost about 4.5%. So how is owning Bitcoin "storing value" again? OILERMAN
9 Nines
@OILERMAN Did you see where the dumbasses in Austin are going to start sticking our tax money: Texas Senate Bill 21 (SB-21), establishing a Bitcoin and cryptocurrency strategic reserve, passed the Texas Senate Banking Committee on Feb. 27 in a 9–0 vote and now advances to the Senate floor for further deliberation. https://cointelegraph.com/news/texas-strategic-bitcoin-reserve-bill-advances-senate-floor OILERMAN

BTC vs. the S&P should dispel the TR myth that the 2 are somehow connected. They aren't, even though they may seem like they are sometimes, because they might move similarly when BTC and the S&P are consolidating. BTC is still in it's early stages of storing value. It's gone from a toddler to a tweener now. I wouldn't be surprised to see a bounce from here, followed by a possible even lower move to 75k or so next month, then up from there to back above 100k. Signed, Michael Fuckin' Saylor! Seems like you're confusing a store of value (like historical gold) with an investment that simply gained value over time (like NVDA stock). Study how Saylor views it also. There's plenty of gold out there in the universe, it ain't scarce. BTC though, another story. Titandan
