I am assuming the guys who have "watched a ton of film - not highlights - FILM" on Henry were right and he is totally incapable of being productive at the NFL level.

Can anyone confirm?

Judging by the reports it looks like a lot of us were wrong.

Dude was busting off long run after long run and had few TD.

Huff tried to lay him out with a shoulder and Henry kept moving

Meh.  Just a bigger, quicker, faster, more muscular, more physical, and more dedicated version of Lendale White minus the Cheesecake Factory and Patron.

Aside from that and the night & day difference in attitude and work ethic, they're basically the same guy.

Henry really reminds me of a taller Michael Turner. Not sure it's a coincidence Mularkey had Turner in ATL. Turner was a big back who didn't have a lot of wiggle, but if you could get him downhill, he could break away from the D. I haven't seen anyone try to compare Henry to Steven Jackson. Jackson was 6'2 240+. Obviously he had a very productive career, but I don't remember him being a super shifty/elusive guy either. Been awhile since I've watched him though.

Fast & chubby "Burner" Turner he was in SanDiego backing up LaDainian. But he became a bit too much "pankcake" Turner in Atl.

The DHenry compare that sticks in my mind from the old FO "run stuffs" analysis is Jamal Lewis.  Big, kinda stiff dude with breakaway speed and more than enough mass to make DBs think twice in run support.

Henry won't stop on a dime and juke a defender out of his shoes, but he has adequate lateral quickness to use a sidestep effectively.

I don't think I want to see a guy his size trying to use a bunch of juke moves anyway. The guy is 6'2 247 lb.

Ah, this is surprising to me because there were one or two people here who were quite emphatic that Derrick Henry was our worst pick and could not be an NFL RB.

Ok hopefully he turns into a top back and wins OROY but we should chill a bit it was just a scrimmage.
