Of course he turned that down.  He's going to get more.  I'm surprised they even put an offer on the table with that low of guaranteed money.

They are saying it comes out to around $58 mil in guaranteed money. That would be the 3rd highest for defensive players while also giving him the highest salary for defensive players. They are saying he wants around $68 mil guaranteed. Marcel Dareus got $60 mil guaranteed which is currently the highest for defensive players.

Y'all don't understand my argument. My point is, there is no one on the face of the earth worth the money  some of these athletes get paid now. Who's to say that the gap between what Von Miller wants and what the Broncos want to give is nothing but a couple more million dollars? It takes an extremely greedy person to turn down $114 million offer. I don't care what y'all say. Take the money and shut up. There are millions of people in the world either starving or wishing they had just a few dollars to eat or get by on and he wants to decline that kind of money. 

Then you have these guys who won't take a pay cut to help the team out cap wise. Or the idiots who hold out from camp all because "they don't feel like they're getting paid enough..." Cry me a river. You're making millions already and hell of a lot more than 3/4 of the world. Shut up and play.

Not to be a dick, but your point doesn't matter. Get mad at anyone making over a certain amount of money that you deem enough. Live in a communist paradise for that matter.  There's not much in life that remains pure under inspection. Just pay no attention to the bullshit of salary negotiations.

Why don't the Broncos cut ticket prices in half? Why do owners ... who make billions ... deserve to make so much. Why do Nikes that cost a dollar to make cost $200 in stores?

Why are you only asking these questions of athletes?

Greed is what gives you a football team. Owners buy in so they can have a new toy and make more money. Shouldn't they just give the money to the poor instead?

I get pissed when  a player is under contract and holds out to get a bigger  contract.   That's the selfish prick that deserves scorn.   You want a better deal,  go ahead and talk to your ownership.  If they don't pay more.... So be it.  When your contact is up,  go elsewhere and sign,  no matter how much they try to keep you.  And let them know you will do that.  But if you are being paid,  then  do your job.

What about when a player is still under contract and gets cut? If the Broncos offered him $114.5M, how much of that money do you think he will get?

I would of done the same. Especially after seeing them not payout big money to a QB and have their QBOF on rookie deal. 

He knows he can tag this year and get 20 more guaranteed next. 

Why would you not do that?

if they end up letting him hit FA he will get twice what they offered guaranteed.

You don't understand "worth" then. The term worth is merely relative to what someone in a free market is willing to pay. If someone is will to pay Von Miller $200 million, then he is worth $200 million.
