gatordude731
I'm really surprised we waited until the 5th round to take a WR if Mularkey is already saying this. Just hope Henry will be worth passing someone like Michael Thomas up.

I would put my money on that 3rd second rounder being viewed as the one they wanted to grab a playmaker with, be it a CB, WR, or RB. Henry looked the best of the bunch and was the pick. Looking at FA next year and the WRs coming out I'm fine with being patient and getting the last bit of production out of Wright while seeing what we have in Mathews and DGB. I think no matter what we go hard after WR and CB next year unless the rookies light it up.

Of all the players picked in the 2nd round, only 8 were on offense. 3 OL (Spriggs, Whitehair, Martin), 1 RB (Henry), 1 TE (H Henry), and 3 WR (Shepard, Thomas, Boyd). He's obviously thought of a lot more highly from their standpoint as opposed to ours. I'd be very surprised if he's cut. Can't see it. Whisenhunt was trying to fit a round peg into a triangle hole with McCluster. He's not a power runner at all. In the offense Whiz was trying to run, to use him as such was an absolute waste of time, especially behind our Oline. McCluster wasn't the problem, Whisenhunt was. McCluster's skill set is a perfect complement to backs like Murray and Henry. He is an ideal scatback/utility/3rd down change-of-pace back that catches out of the backfield. McCluster will have a real chance to perform well here for a change in this offense.
Righteous
McCluster is a human momentum changer! In every game his little ass gets punished, which fires up the other team. Please cut him!
Supdawg
Yeah our WR corp is a cluster FUCK... Coach them up, or out.

As many guys (as) you have that can do something special and make a big play ... Dexter will have a role. It won’t be hard. It will actually be enjoyable to game plan with some of the guys we’re adding on.” Sounds like Cobb, Andrews & who's that other guy...oh yeah Sankey... might be gone. Music to my ears. Titans279
McCluster probably won't be good this year either.
SleepingTitan
Sharpe showed up with a football in his hand. Says he carries it around like a baby. Never seen such a bunch of try-hards. We may actually have something here. Team chemistry will win you games that you had no business winning. If we can go 6 wins on strength and 3 games on "luck"..... titanruss
they always talk about mccluster and his ability to make big plays... but he's never made a big play. he's made like several 10-15 yard plays... which is worrisome if they think that is a big play. i also think mularkey said this b/c he knows the chances we replace several of them (hunter AND wright AND mcbride AND douglas) this year is low... so it's sort of an empty threat used as motivation for this season. one and mayyybe 2 of those guys could be cut... but thats about as common as any year. Nash
Always the optimist, I wonder if the simplification of the offense will help some of these guys..

He averaged 4.5 YPC and with the new OL might actually actually be very productive. He might have been our best inside runner last year. Look at two plays last year, the 25 yard TD run and the 35 yd pass reception. You can see he has some value especially if he can return punts. http://www.nfl.com/player/dextermccluster/497190/profile His ST performance has been disappointing. As a runner and returner, I think he's been fine. That's pretty much what he was in KC. I agree that he gets too much hate. I don't expect him to go anywhere though. He's clearly more highly thought of in the locker room

I'm concerned about when and where. We lost a game where Mularkey was too conservative in the 4th qtr. Put the ball in Mariota's hands in crunch time. That's what concerns me.
