We can both admit he gets a bit of a pass for last year. It was a horrible fit. He's a one cut runner, which is what we've been looking for. Outside of Doug Martin this is a pretty safe add.

We could've risked going Derrick Henry but that was a big risk too.

 I liked Miller too, but he's not a bellcow type runner which is what they were looking for

Yeah, he wasn't really good for the Eagles when they ran those run plays of the shotgun and Murray had to go left and right instead of straight up the field.

I'm interested to see what the reworked contract looks like.  It's a decent gamble by JR.

I am glad we got him over drafting Henry in the 2nd round. He has too many question marks for me and this now points to us drafting on the defensive side of the ball in the 2nd instead.

Even if we're paying $9m a year for the next three yrs and he flops, who cares? I'd rather spend it on a failed experiment than not spend it at all.
