socaltitan
What Ian said: "(The Los Angeles Rams) decided to franchise tag Trumaine Johnson, leavingJanoris Jenkins on the free agent market. The Rams are expected to come hard for him. Some of the other teams looking for corners: the Niners, the Raiders, the Jaguars and the Titans." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000641226/article/which-free-agents-are-expected-to-get-big-deals There's a video clip in the link of him saying this. He doesn't say we're targeting Jenkins, but he says we're looking for corners in FA. Technically, we've signed a CB. But I'm assuming he means more than Brice McCain. gaskill15
For the hell of it lets say we sign Jenkins. Do we move Cox to NB and McCain simply provides depth?

Mythos27
This either means nothing , or it means everything. Whoooooa, that's deep.
Stranger
I certainly hope they're still looking for CB help. Cox had a pretty weak season.
Omar
I would think they are looking at every position besides QB, K and P.
rns90
I think it's more likely that they look toward the middle tier of FA CB's like Hayward and Prince Amukamara than Jenkins, who'll cost 10+ million to sign.
kyle021
A name to watch for it Amukamara Jenkins makes tons of sense
big2033
This is a pretty damn vague report. My sources report we're looking at OL, WR and RB too.
CaliTitan3518
Sean Smith is another CB that should be in the discussion if we are really looking at signing another CB.
socaltitan
Amukamara's only played one full 16 game season in 5 seasons. That's a bit of a red flag for me when talking about a big contract to a FA. Sean Smith makes sense. He is going to be in his age 29 season though. Which means if you sign him to a 5 yr deal for example, 4 of those years are going to be ages 30-33 which for a CB is old. There's a few older CB like Newman who are still productive, but that's probably the exception not the norm. And Smith is a big guy. Hayward is young (26) and has the local ties. Face
What's so vague about the report? Rapoport, who has a very good rep, said we were one of 4 teams looking to sign a corner in FA. That's the opposite of vague.

It is a bit vague, but it does suggest we might be targeting one of the top CB. I thought maybe we'd look at the S instead and sign another cheap vet Brice McCain type. WF had a report saying teams might have to trade ahead of us to get a S in the 2nd. Perhaps we sign a big FA CB and draft a S in round 2.

We also need veteran lineman ... so to say we're looking to sign that position is self explanatory.
