I don't think its that linear. Their visits and final evals on teh later part of the dratfs does not stop them from working through the top of the draft. It would be just poor planning to not have the top done by now. The 1st round imo- is all but done. Maybe they havne't finalized it.. haven't done the final run through.. but they've worked through the scenarios, done the visits and done the due dilgence and had the big discussions and debates at the top.

You are running ahead of the timeline right now they are still in information collecting mode with pro days, visits and medical rechecks ongoing. All that you described above is the final part of the process that takes part at the very end during the final few weeks. When you listen to GM's around the league they always outline this final part of the process. Yes they would have a leaning but its not like all the decision makers have sat down more than 3 weeks out and drawn up the final definitive plan that is still to come.

It is at 4.. by. now they are trying to generate trade offers and gaming out scenarios deeper in the draft. ITs why so many recent 30 visits were with prospects later on. They can't really do that until they have an idea who they could target that deep. They can't really know that until they have some idea of what they are going to do higher in teh draft. If they dont know what they are doing at 4 by now they're idiots. (not to say there aren't process points to check off)

Yes and I'm pretty sure by now they've gamed out every scenario.. there aren't that many possibilities at 4. They know what they are doing at 4 by now.. unless they get a good trade offer. Everything they said recently (includeing the best player available and not positional value) was about leaving it as open as they can to generate trade offers. They already know what they plan on doing.
