Being below the 0.18% average is not at all significant in a claim of heritage. The point of an average would be to see how much the heritage makes up the 100% of USA heritages; it makes no sense to rate someone against it. Obviously the vast majority of "white people" in the USA have 0.0%. It's those few with much closer ancestral heritage (like, 75%, 50% etc) that influence that average. So median would have been a better comparison, although in general it's still misleading and a poor understanding of statistics to compare mass to a single value like this - like I said, you either have it or you don't, it's a binary statistic. One is because the DNA test shows she had an ancestor 6 to 10 generations back. If you don't have a living relative who is Native American, it's pretty weak to claim any sort of real connection to a tribe. It's also pretty weak to claim Native American ancestry when clearly that isn't very much of your genetic identity. Now maybe she has some cultural ties, I honestly don't know. The other reason this crap is silly is that Trump is now saying who cares. Exactly. It's one of the dumbest arguments in DC ever... and that is saying something. Problem is, he's the one who cares. He offered to pay a million bucks to charity just to get her to take a DNA test (desperate much) and constantly referred to her as Pocahontas. Fucking childish bs games that we've come to expect from a guy who makes wild accusations and then demands people prove him wrong but then cries when he gets called out for his constant lying.
