It's hard to completely go all in on Locker in either direction. He looked great in limited play in 2011, he was terrible after the injury but also had a terrible preseason and some terrible early games before the injury. He looked outstanding in halves against the Colts and Fins even after the injury.

It's also pretty obvious the coaches want to lessen his role by building a ball control heavy formation offense.

I def think the first step is set up an offense that can protect him by running the ball and max protecting to keep him in manageable situations and limit his exposure to injuries.

BTW, I loved Webster saying he can't be making tackles on INTs, that was so utterly stupid. You're better off letting your QB stand and watch a guy return a pick 6 than make some dumb ass tackle that causes and injury.

But they will no be able to hide him. He'll have to convert 3rd downs and move the chains

Either Locker is the QB or he is gone.  This will be year 3 of his tenure in Nashville and he has to step forward or the Titans must look to invest in someone else.  Fitz is intended to be the back up.  No more no less.

Well, actually, it's just a smidge over two years, if that, of playing time.  And playing time is what counts, not the number of seasons.

I bet Bray goes in the 2nd. He could go to a team like Pitt and prove the rich get richer, or he can go to someone like Buffalo and end up the Jeff George cautionary tale many expect.

I wonder how Ryan Mallet is doing? No major offseason BS with that guy and he's quietly learning under Brady and Belicheck. It will be interesting to see him finally play.

Because he sucked in college and we had NO business picking him at 8 or any other spot in the draft. THAT'S WHY.

That's completely ridiculous. He was on a terrible team, but if he had forgone his senior year, he likely would have been the top pick in the 2010 draft instead of Sam Bradford.

Yes, in one of the worst QB drafts in history. His win & loss record as well as his college numbers were not that good.

Like I've said...we're going to learn a lot about him this year.

I'm led to believe that some of you want this guy to succeed so badly that you'll let anything cloud your judgement about his skills.

Bradford would have still gone number one. He was the better QB prospect despite all the chatter. Locker had exciting athleticism and tools but Bradford had better tape and could step in right away. After watching tape on Locker from his junior year scouts would have cooled on him..

No sir. I simply follow a player's track record.

If he couldn't put the Washington Huskies on his back and win consistently, how am I supposed to trust he can do that with the Tennessee Titans?

I don't live on speculation & hypothetical scenarios. I can only go by what I've seen.

I think this is a point that says a lot about Jake Locker.  He makes dumb decisions.  People want to say Jake is really just getting his first season done because he hasn't started 16 games, yet.  The reality is Jake got to watch to learn for a year and came out to do a bonehead play like that one.  Now as a result, we have to give him another year to just play reasonably well to really see what he can do.  I think this year is it.  Jake has to come out and play like a franchise qb or see you later.

Munchak and whoever decided to pick a developmental qb at number 8 need to be dismissed.  Especially if this qb does not come out and become an exceptional player.  Big risk demands big reward, not mediocre reward.  The reward so far has been less that mediocre and now in year three they are dumbing down the offense.  If they didn't know what kind of offense he could run, why draft Jake that high in the first place?

I really want to see Jake succeed.  They have surrounded him with enough talent, it's all up to him.

Making a tackle on an interception and saving a possible TD is a boneheaded play? It sucks he got hurt, but I certainly don't want a pussy for a QB who just let the guy run by him. This is football, and he showed he is a football player...what would we be saying about him if he just let's the guy run by him for a td and it costs them the game?

Should big Ben have let Nick Harper run for a TD and not tackled him when Bettis fumbled? No he made the tackle, saved the game, and they went on to the SB. Why? because he is a competitor and a football player.
