I guess Im irritated because Britt got hurt Week 3.

Now, he still isnt even close.

Adrian Peterson had the same injury Week 13 and he is telling ESPN and everyone within earshot he will be back by Week 1. That to me is balls and dedication.

We need every swinging dick for the tough early stretch and I cant help but think that moron has been grabassing around.

You believing AP makes you even more clueless than he is about his potential week 1 return to the field.

The only thing we can fault Britt for as a result of his injury is the fact he threw the ball away when it happened during the game!

I'd definitely prefer bringing him along slowly if its better for the long term of his career. Who really wants him back before he's truly ready? Every body is different and just because one player gets back in "x" amount of time doesn't mean every other player will as well. Patience, CMJ! Lets just be happy he's seemingly quit toking or at the very least has learned to keep his weed stash at home now!

I would shit bricks over "start Hass for the first few games then switch just because those games were hard".

So we can't trust the guy we spent the 8th overall pick in the draft on to beat good teams? That guy is supposed to be our future? The only reason he shouldn't start is if he's legitimately not better than Hasselbeck. Fuck that whole "because we play some good teams to start".

As others have pointed out, the pressure in those first few games probably won't be the defenses the QB is facing; it's going to be a matter of keeping up with the opposing offenses in games that could easily become high-scoring shootouts.

So the question becomes, if you know going in that you may have to score 30+ points to have a shot at winning, which QB gives you the better chance?

With all due respect to MH, I can't see a dink-and-dunk offense putting up 30 points. They're gonna have to generate some big plays, flip the field, and score quickly. Locker has the arm and athleticism to make that happen; Hasselbeck doesn't.

Ultimately, if I'm Mike Munchak, I throw the schedule, the QB competition, and everything else out the window and ask myself one question:

Is Jake ready to play?

If he's ready, then it's time.

And if he's not ready..... then what the hell am I doing wrong?

I can't think of one post of yours that I ever disagreed with

If MH starts and the team is 1-3 or 0-4 and then they make a switch there would be even more added pressure on Locker to play better the rest of the way.

This point was brought up on another site: Outside of Houston, none of the first four teams of the season are well known for their defense. The Patriots, Chargers and Lions are known for their ability to score points, not win close/tight games. In a situation where the Titans need to keep pace with opposing offenses, would you start Hasselbeck or Locker? Surely Locker offers more potential to make big plays and put points on the board than Hasselbeck despite the possibility of making mistakes.

If the Titans were playing the Ravens, Steelers, the Jets and 49ers, it would make more sense to play Hasselbeck.

Because noodle-arm Hasselbeck would be so much better an option against those Ds?
