Don't forget Nolan Smith suffered a ruptured pec in his final season at Georgia. Also from memory there were concerns about shoulder issues during that pre-draft process. I just said late first because I was salty. Still, if you're drafting someone at #4 for a position he didn't play full-time and wasn't particularly great at or have an ideal frame for, it seems like you're doing a huge disservice to yourself. I wouldn't say he is "ridiculously bad". It certainly isn't a strong suit but I think he can fix it. It looks like he is over thinking things once he has the ball. Meaning their actually production is compared to whatever YAC and missed tackles a WR would be expected to create (however that is calculated). There are some really good WRs around him, and some really bad ones in the top right quadrant so it's not all that meaningful. He was solid on screens but whenever he got a short crossers he would absolutely fail. He could have turned some of the comebacks into extra yards but he doesn't turn upfield really quick like he does running routes for whatever reason on those catches. The few deep shots he didnt score a td on and wasn't tackled immediately he could have done better on as well. I wasn't trying to just explain it away, i was agreeing just adding some context.
