No chance. Of course they will

This could be a Denver Russell Wilson situation or he will be the backup like Kirk Cousins.

Well Ewers is starting this week, so maybe Tua will end up being his really expensive backup next year.

But I still think Tua will start next year.

Screwing up our draft position? Thanks! I got you some lead paint for chrsitmas.

To be fair, I was responding to last week's post.

That said, I was happy when Minshew went down because I felt there would be no way the Chiefs could win with their #3 QB.

I would love for the Chiefs to lose out.  Well, 'love' is the wrong word.  I would enjoy it if the Chiefs had a massive upset against the Broncos, but I don't see that happening.  Even if they did, it would be bittersweet because the Chiefs need to get as high a draft pick as possible.

If you told me at the beginning of the year that Mahomes would tear his knee up in December, I would have been much happier about the losses.  It would have sucked to have pulled out some of those games and had it all been for naught.  Really, I wish they had lost more games at this point.  Although, I enjoyed beating the Colts because I felt like they were pretenders the whole time.

At least this way, the Chiefs can have their highest draft pick since 2013 (not including the trade up for Mahomes).

I was told only Titans fans value earlier picks

It being a kc fan blows it up even better. Thier argument that the good teams that pick late every year but are still good one. The fan of the most recent dynasty is ready for them to crash out for their best pick in years.

I get the sentiment and watching the game(s) will suck.  I will still root for them to play well and win.

Maybe it is just copium on my part, assuming they lose (and why wouldn't I assume that at this point given that they have a ton of injuries and are on their third string QB), that I am spinning it as a positive.

I do wish the Chiefs could have lost a couple other games so that they would get into the top 10.

I'm hoping that the Falcons and Dolphins win out, or at least win one more than the Chiefs.  (worried the Chiefs may beat the Raiders in week 18).

I'm hoping the Saints and Bengals can win their last two games assuming the Chiefs beat the Raiders.

It would also be great if the Redskins win out and the Chiefs lose out.

That would put the Chiefs all the way to 7.  Just hoping the Chiefs can get to at least 10.

We'll see what happens.

To be fair, if Mahomes hadn't gotten hurt, I would still want them to win.  I wouldn't want his legacy tarnished (more that it was already with this season).

But, Mahomes is hurt, the team has a ton of other injuries as well, and even his backup is out for the rest of the season.

While I know it will go down in the official record books, I kind of view these as scrimmages.
