I do think that we have the right guy in Borgonzi though. I just wish he did more on the front seven this year. This past draft class is looking like the best since J-Rob's phenomenal 2016 draft. This franchise has killed my optimistic nature but I do see some cinders among the ashes. A couple of more classes like this one and we're back in business. I know it's an offensive league, but we might have some pieces on offense to tide us over until 2027. I hope the draft this year focuses almost entirely on defense. Obviously BPA can change plans, but the defense is a sieve. Attack the biggest weak points on defense and we might not need two classes to be back in business. We are probably saying the same thing but they haven’t killed my optimism but I just shake my head at how difficult it is for them to do normal things an NFL does with ease. Burks actually looked good when he was healthy. Okonkwo was #2 in yards per route run amongst all WRs/TEs in the league. Phillips was productive in the very first game before he experienced injuries. Then there was McCreary. Just a reminder not to get ahead of ourselves. DCTitan, and Mythos27

titanruss
Burks def looked good for greenbay, cicny, philly his rookie year. Then he flashed a few times - mostly in camp - but got hurt each time his momentum started. TerryBoats, and Mythos27
TerryBoats
Burks averaged as many yards per game as a rookie as Ayomanor and Dike combined. And he had Willis/Dobbs as starting QBs for several of those games that he played. Edited October 22 by TerryBoats

I've made the same comment you just did a few times recently.

He hasn't had a game with more than 3 catches since 2022, has only had one game his entire career with more than 4 catches which was the TNF 7-catch 111 yard (his only 100 yard fame too) game against GB in 2022, the last game I attended by the way. Burks has sucked ass since day one, a few good games doesn't change the fact. Your continued attempts to misuse stats knows no bounds. I blame the titans media guys pumping his ass up for 3 straight years. Idk how its possible ot took them till this year to give up on him, or at the least treat him as an after thought. OzTitan
Burks always sucked because there was a good chance he would barely have seen the field in most WR rooms across the league. Most good ones anyway. Even the JAGiest of JAGs will get big games from time to time, if they are given an opportunity to be on the field for a lot of snaps. titanruss
Burks had moments where he was good and even games where he looked like he could dominate good players across from him... and then he'd get hurt. We all saw it. No one said he was a good player. But he had moments where you saw the ability and if he had stayed healthy and had good QB play, his story would be much different. If he's not completely broken in the head/ body - and that's a big IF - head could be productive. IsntLifeFunny, and Mythos27

Even JAGS have good games from time to time. You are just off as usual.
titanruss
I love how everyone here is talking nuance, hypothetical, being non committal about him being a good player, and basically recapping the truth of what we all said at the time. He had a few games where he was solid and looked like he could be something. You can go back and look at the game threads and see what people said.... And then Oldschool just sees the world completely black and white like always. Cant understand any argument other than what he thinks, doesn't get nuance or hypotherticals, ignores probably shit he himself said back then, and then insults everyone that disagrees .... and even some that don't. I mean half the board probably has some shade of the spectrum gradient going on but that seems like some mommas special boy hyper autistic type shit.
