This is easily done in a TV show. It's revealed that Cersei captured Greyworm, the leader of Unsullied. Missandei looks conflicted upon hearing the news. Fast forward and: 1. Maybe Cersei gets some big win. How did she know!? Missandei cries how she's sorry but she had to try and save Mr. Mouth Penis. 2. Varys/Tyrion/Jon/Davos ... someone ... see Missandei sneaking off. They follow. They catch her in the act, take Missandei and the message she was trying to send with a raven to Dany and you have a scene where Dany presses her "is this true, how could you" and Missandei breaks down. Obviously I didn't mean he made connections in Valeria, unless he was drinking beer with the Stone Men. I just meant he was well traveled. Right after he took over the Iron Islands, didn't he say he planned on bumping uglies with Dany? If he knows of her and her forces, could he have not taken preemptive measures to have someone on the inside? Yes, I'm spit balling here. You realize that curing some real life diseases basically comes down to amputation before it spreads, right? The maester basically said he should have cut off his hand before it spread. The point to it all is that was dangerous to attempt the cure because it could easily be spread so the maestesr had banned the cure. And if you watched the scene, it's pretty clear that not many patients would be able to handle the cure. Hell, plenty of viewers couldn't handle watching the cure. The secret cure being the most obvious solution is lame... but also effective. Both of which are the exact point about how easily a TV show can actualize a plot. I can't fathom arguing it's imperfect and forced plots are fine but then getting upset at the suggestion a plot can be forced and it would work in the show.
